They tell you to be yourself then they judge you
Judge you for the mistakes you’ve made in the past
The past which is meant to be forgotten
Forgotten, so bad thoughts would never last.

No make-up can make your identity.
Your identity should not be defined by your weight.
Your weight couldn’t matter any less
Any less than what they want you’d get hate.

Everyone forces you to follow what’s usual
What’s usual about girls that are skin and bones?
Bones of thousands of self conscious people
People that were never happy in their own homes.

Pressure of perfection exerted by the society
The society that is no more perfect than you.
You and your heart should be all that you follow
Follow so that to yourself you’d be true.

All I could ever think about
is slow dancing with you
to all the songs you’ve ruined.
inkheart Apr 2014
I never did quite figure you out.
You gave me gasps filled with fresh air
just to steal my heart
and take my breath away.
