You always see me smiling in pictures
But not behind the scenes
Because a photo can't tell the story
Of a man's wandering heart in need

The need for something different
Besides the dull everyday to day
The need for a new meaning
Without all these obstacles in the way

A change of plans with change of venue
Surroundings where I'm not so well known
Where the life I now have doesn't seep through
Not having to live up to what all I own

You can take all you want of your pictures
But don't expect to see the real me
Just because I'm smiling for the camera
There's another the story behind the scenes

I know you don't love me anymore
I am unsure whether you did before
I just want you to finally be happy
And live life filled with complete glee.

I know love is a truly complex notion
One filled with deep heartfelt emotions
You can't force love, if you do as a result
It eventually has ways to suddenly halt.

I am so glad that you found someone
I know you're feeling like you've won
But I wonder if you ever missed me
I do understand that it wasn't meant to be.

I still wonder if I recur in your memories
Or have I faded into the blue seas
Do I ever suddenly reemerge from words
Or in some of the songs you have heard.

You probably don't, but I sometimes do
I sometimes stop and think about you
I'm unsure of why I still relapse
But it felt like my heart is in traps.

I do appreciate everything you've given me
No matter how short that came to be
It felt amazing and magical the same
And I promise my heart, I will tame.

...I bid you goodbye...
And around her the world spins;
just her, my et cetera, ever since.

The spell of the folding star
Fortells the line of beauty
As the unknown becomes
The hammock and the
Broken knot the post

Cloud pink above the rockery
Grey fingers of twilight too
Resolving into the nooks
Across paths as ideas seen
Not given a chance to bloom

She is the earth, the moon, the planets, and the stars
And when I sit alone with her side by side in my car
I can feel for once that heaven isn't very far
when we hear the silence
in our closed eyes
direct it into our soul
let it conclude its work
become our consciousness

far from the world’s noise
if only for moments
in secret    with no audience
we become one
with nature quietly shaping our lives
After dropping her child at school
the day was a dream only hers
when she could make her own rule
follow it for all those hours.

She would sit on some house terrace
see the busy steps passing by
trying to gauge from their pace
the errands written in their eyes.

She would watch the life of birds
amused how they labored for a nest
and when falling day drew homeward
folded sunned wings into rest.

Spread her eyes beyond the concrete
above the trees far into the haze
where young kites were taught flying feat
by mothers circling the summer blaze.

Everyday all things were renewed
seasons rolled a movie before her
all that even though already viewed
was never bereft of a sense of wonder.

How her hours flew was not known
days turned to years as a rule
her child in no time was grown
no more she needed to go to school.
A tribute to my wife who spent long hours by herself after dropping our son at school. We still talk about it.
She was here
washing her face
yesterday morning,
years ago.
