When sadness is your occupation
And weariness your pay
There’s not a lot of point in asking for a raise
Or an extra day’s vacation.

Deep is the heart of the Forest
a sound stirs sending shivers of sorrow
through the undergrowth
to where wonderful willows wildly weep.

Deep is the voice of the Forest
its core carefully calling clipped chords
through the luscious canopy
to aptly announce an autumn abundance.

Deep is the love of the Forest
in light lancing little lazy legacy lines
through the fresh downpour
to relish rain rapidly replenishing roots.

The blur of grey
I felt it as you snuck up on me
Trying to hide from it
Should I show you my face
I'd never seen that in you before
You fumbled your words
Watching and waiting
I'm not brave enough
I'll wait till you are
Have you ever had a dream you cant explain, maybe only in pieces and it still makes no sense? Sounds like hide and seek.
grass

holds the sand.

sand holds

the grass.

have you walked the dunes

hollowed path, coconut gorse.

have you found contentment there?

have you sat the sun, black crow bird,

have you closed your eyes at that

within, enjoyed that

without?

the tin hut is still empty.

I told my grandkids that I’m famous

On Hello Poetry

They were not impressed

I don’t have the heart to tell them
(Or myself)

The term “famous” was a stretch

As far as you know
I’ve forgotten you
And pay no attention
To whatever you do
As far as you know
I’m in non-you bliss
Glad you are gone
But bliss don’t feel like this
As far as you know
I’m beyond moving on
But the truth is
That road to healing is long
As far as you know
You’re a nonentity
No part of my life
And you never will be
But as far as I know
I miss the good times
When you were sweet
And loving and fine
As far as I know
You are a disease
That I just cannot seem to cure
But one thing I know
I’ll never tell you I love you
Again
And of that, you can be sure
