You and I
Are water and salt:
Needing one another
Separately,
To live,
But dying of thirst
If taken together.

Written, sung, and played,
Covered, piano, fingers splayed,
Words that flow, are gentle on the ear,
Ones that bring the eye a tear,
Ones that scream, shout, and cry,
Some people hate,
Others love, and embrace,
What music does,
It calms the heart,
And soothes through the veins,
Pulses to the brain,
And helps to save.

They tried to bury us my dear
But they didn't realize that we were seeds

I want to softly whisper
incomplete poems
on your collar bones
that don't rhyme with anything
but your heavy breathing.

I want to bury my face
in the curves of your neck
because you smell like the winter clouds
and I've been gazing at the sky
since you left.
I'm driven
Driven by hope
Led by dreams
Told by thoughts
Nudged by tranquility
Pulled by love
Poured by peace
Controlled by nothing
I'm driven
and you let him leave bruises
on your skin
so you'd know what it was like
when he was gone

I have lived a thousand lives and died a million deaths.
And somewhere in between, I finally found myself.
I wanted to write today.
My fingers itched.
My head pained.
Words were not coming.
In my heart. In my brain.
Felt uncomfortable
by this strain.
Have I stopped loving him?
Is it a writer's block?

The poet is the clock.
You say you hate yourself
I say *I love you
