It was when the last leaf fell
That I first met you
A glimmer of warmth
In the nip of winter
A burst of colour
In a world buried in white

A gentle breeze
In a world of whirling discord

And I can still hear you whisper
Every time the wind blows
I still see the ripples of your irises
Within the swirls the flakes dance
As I venture familiar sights
Without you

It was when the snowflakes last waltzed
That I first fell for the winter within your eyes,
Your heart of ice and snow
Despite the void you left behind,
I will always feel your spirit under winter skies
Because I know you're somewhere up there
Dancing among the flakes
Does this count as a short story?
