Charles Bukowski
I met a genius on the train
today
about 6 years old,
he sat beside me
and as the train
ran down along the coast
we came to the ocean
and then he looked at me
and said,
it's not pretty.

it was the first time I'd
realized
that.

'"Why girls who have close relationships with their father, make better wives"
"Why girls with 'daddy issues' are too complicated"
Enough I say, just because my father didn't decide to be in my life,
Doesn't mean I am less of a person or would make a bad wife
My absent father does not affect the way I love
If anything it's taught me, to hold my head high and stand up

If you label me with 'daddy issues' I could only feel pride,
For every shattered disappointment I felt and for every tear I cried
For the days spent wishing and the night spent alone,
I realized I did not need a man, to build my backbone

Funny how absence can work in my favor
I am now stronger than ever, my own gleaming savior
So for boys who can't handle these women so strong
Stop trying to label us problematic and make us seem 'wrong'

Oh how glorious war is!
How efficient
And adequate!
The way it entertains the gods
When we shoot fireworks and missiles into the sky
It accustoms young women to waiting
Awards men for slaughtering men
Inspires tyrants to deliver long speeches
Adds pages to history books
Gives politicians something to bet on
Brought tears to Einstein’s eyes
Leaves men scarred for life
Gives poets new themes
Like Bukowski and Cummings
It produces less mouths to feed
Teaches historians that history is always repeating itself
Gives governments something to brag about
Pulverises countries until nothing is left
Accomplishes equality between killer and killed
Keeps the industry of artificial limbs in business
Gives grave diggers a pat on the back
See how glorious war can be?

This poem was written for an assignment I was given to do about war, during this task I chose to take a sarcastic turn about the topic instead of being traditional and using this task to take my anger out on war..I hope you enjoy my work.

you saw sadness,
and you never noticed the pain.

you heard the thunder,
and ignored the rain.

but yet you wonder,
just why you dug my grave.

you saw, my dear.

but you cannot see.

One by one,
the petals fall,
softly to the ground.

One by one,
my tears fall,
rolling down my cheeks.

We are just the same,
you and I.
We are both longing to survive,
but as every petal falls and every tear rolls,
the beauty inside us slowly dies.

Sin
He kept it in the fridge
On the top shelf
On a plastic plate
No care for health
Opening the door how he would smile
But if we looked in there
Or mouths would fill with bile

It's his most cherished part
Y'know when he stole her heart
And threw it in the drain
Hoping that the rain
Would wash away the stain

So he kept this part in his fridge
A kinda trophy like a kid
But only he looks at it
As he touches his ****

Remembering all the fights
Her screaming out into the night
For someone to help her now
While he slashed and cut
And screamed and howled

And so he looks into her eyes
The fridge light makes them shine
As he touches his prize of crime
And when he's all spent
The fridge door
Will close again
