A strange word, but it fits

how I feel

I cannot control

The shivering of my heart

The fire in my blood

The whispers in my head

Screaming for sweet silver and red

Everything inside me runs

Amok.

A lightning blot

just touched me heart

Jagged white strip

of pain

Flash!

Heartbeats thunder

through my brain,

provoked

by fear's burning breath.

When you say
that you are nothing,
I fear for you.
When the words that leave your lips
are shrouded in darkness,
I fear for you.
When you look as though
you're about to cry,
I fear for you.
I love you,
and I don't want you to be lost, and
I fear for you.

The sky is exploding

sending shards of shrapnel

down to Earth

Orbs of cold and wet

that burst on impact

and soak their target in tears

Pieces of shrapnel

skitter across the road

on legs made of fragility

Cold  and wet

Teardrops of the sky

Who is it that cries?

Who do they cry for?

Do they see the shadows

that many on Earth have become?

Do they weep because

we are devoured by darker times?

Are the tears,

clear and cold,

pulled by the untimely arrival

of death to a young soul's side?

Do these weepers,

these beings who hide in the sky,

also suffer from

the dark diseases of life,

The mind-numbing drinks

And crazy-making smoke

And blood-hungry metal?

Why does no one weep for them

the way they weep for us?

And the lights, they dance

Spin

Twirl

Fly

They fill the sky, gleaming, gleaming, gleaming,

bright.

They are invisible

except to my eyes.

They are the music,

the sound that pounds in my chest.

boom.

Vibrations ripple through my veins,

my blood fizzes and boils

I want to scream

and spin

and twirl

and fly

Like the lights in the sky

They cannot be seen by any eyes

Only mine, only mine

I alone can see

Because I alone can hear

The music, the beats, the rise

and the fall

I will explode from the force of it,

this sound that pours into my body

Absorbs into my skin

Bubbles into my blood

Dances through my mind

Setting me free

Like I've always wanted to be

Yes, I am free

And the music, it goes on

And the lights, they dance

Anger
building
and boiling
I want
to scream
Fury
that has no reason to invade
has taken over my brain

My hair

between his fingers

Soft, golden strands

Woven sunlight

slipping through

the gaps between the digits

Almost impossible to hear

Words of affection

brush against my ear

Dark eyes meet

ocean eyes,

pools of love.

I f I wake before I die

Defy the pain of life's lie

Carve goodbyes into my skin

And scream to release the truth within

Lay me down six feet deep

Because I have no soul to keep

Let me wander lost forever

Until I vanish into the never

I'm not sure who was more dishonest.

Me: who pretended everything was okay because it had to be,
There was no other way;
Or You: who built the person you needed to be on
A foundation of snow.

When our time came it wasn't okay
And the snow had long since melted.

Me: who ran to fall apart and begin picking up pieces as best I could -
I'm not whole, but there are things I'm learning;
Or You: who crumbled to the world, clutching at redemption -
Your fear was always your best friend.

Of all the scattered fragments,
Was it enough to salvage our own?
