There's nothing more romantic
          in my eyes
        Than holding your hand
   And talking about our lives
          Because in my mind
The only thing better than the fantasy
        Is the intimacy I feel
When it's just you and me
            *connecting

I am happy, I am quite sure
But every time I want to try
Expressing my happiness
Inside a poems lines
I'm left behind with a sad poem I wrote

Poetry is an Indicator
Reaching deep inside my mind
Revealing, showing me...
I may not be as happy as I thought

My shame is exposed
For the world to see
No point in hiding my scars
They're forever painted on me
It's the only thing
They know me for
This pain I carry
Is my punishment for starting this war
They say I'm a harlot
Maybe I am
Forgive me for I have sinned
Or penalize me since I'm already ******
I find myself isolated
From the rest of the world
My only joy in life
Is my beautiful daughter Pearl
So I walk the city
With my shame tattooed upon me
Represented by the letter "A"
For everyone to see
I wrote this for an English project after we read The Scarlet Letter

When you're able
To cite a bible verse
But you can never
Turn the mirror on yourself
Every Sunday you walk into that church
It's about as sincere as satan himself

Till you can’t walk
Till you are sore,
Yet still smiling
from the thrilling experience,
Till you are sweating pleasure
from every pore.
Till your breath murmurs
my first name with every inhale
Till my voice is the only sound
your ears need to hear.

i would
rest my head on your breast
and listen
Enjoy the sweet tunes composed by
every noted word you harmonize

Tales of your life stories before they became entwined with mine
Narratives about your dreams
About who breaks your glassy heart
And what tickles your eye-ducts
into opening a flood of tears.

an inner world of wishes

I cry in my dreams
For the people I have lost
I knock on their doors
One by one
And take them for a walk

We just have a talk
And I listen
To the things they wanted to say
From a time
They weren't yet gone

They change faces throughout
And I shudder,
And I'm glad
They're finally back

While we sit atop a car
In a green suburb street
The last face is yours
Your smile filled with tears

You stared off
And said:
"You understand, right?"
And smiled,
"I can see,
You understand"

Then I wake up
In reality
And I've got no time
For tears in mine
And I know
They only lived
In the fabrication
Of my mind
