I feel nostalgic
Every single day
Those memories we've created
Can we repeat it?

I feel wistful
Every single minute
Reminiscing our past
Has been a hobby of mine lately

I feel homesick
Every second I'm away from you
Because to me you are home
And in your arms is where I belong

Your mosaic soul shows cracks, shattered glass,
jagged on the edges
and red where your pricked your fingers trying to pick them up.
I see pieces putting together something greater.
your water color freckles,
splattered over pale skin.
I'd compare them to the constellations, but those are just shapes
and the path im tracing with my fingers tells me much more.
there's no dawn in your golden brown eyes,
the sun I see shinning through stained glass is too bright to be just barely rising.
you are reckless laughter caught in a shutter
a frame by frame moment of the last trickles of childhood
blackness blurring the edges around you
from being left too long in the developer.
your lips feel like oil pants,
sliding over mine like a blank canvas,
I can still see the masterpiece you made me into.
I can still feel the whips of graphite tears pouring down your cheeks as you let all of the art you hold inside.
This sound so much better when read aloud and I will have a soundcloud up soon with all of my poems and slams stay tuned
As a young Latino male,
I am looked down
as a gang member,
even when I have no
gang colors on me-
but wait, to them,
my skin is the only
color they need
to categorize me
as an illegal immigrant
that just had crossed
the border, and is affiliated
in a gang.
And if sticking up
for my people,
for my blood
categorizes me
as a "gang member"
then I do not know
what to tell you.
I caught myself on seeking you in everything around me;
I seek you in smoke of my morning cigarettes, in every person passing my bitter, dusky windows,
I seek you in each of my cold, lifeless breaths coming out under lousy haze,
I seek you in empty rooms of our flat, alcohol smuges staining our walls,
I seek you in every flaw craved onto my skin, in every bruise adorning my body like diamonds,
I seek you in eyes of strangers, in cracked mirrors crying out hurtful truth,
I seek you within my lies, telling everyone I’m fine.
I seek you because I’m nothing without you, I can feel myself slipping away.
He strove past a mammoth tree
Under which as a child
He weathered many a storms
Waiting for a moment mild.

Yet cared little he for times gone
Bidding not so much as a glance
To an old friend who seemed
Trifling before his new romance.

And seemed not to mind the tree
Neither surly nor grumpy
Just busy sheltering that night
A newly found puppy.
