a lone figure
on a solitary beach.
me, pebbles, water and I.

I can stare for days,
at the seagull,
sitting on my window sill.

You can tell from his expression,
he has no idea that people shoot at each other.

I’m going to spend the rest of my life with him,
until I have the same expression on my face…

stoic, solid
stolid and bolder
made colder the soldier-
death's hand on his shoulder
and eyes the color
of green flies.

I yell and I frantically wave
But no one hears a silent scream
And taxi-cabs don't stop for ghosts

Such a cloudless summer day
In the city.

Ice cream weather girls
Caught me winking back;  

Always looking for a smile
To kiss.
