She is strong
She pulled herself through strong winds,
Roots gripping the earth, refusing to break.
She survived with little care,
Drinking from the silence,
Holding on when no hands reached out.

She never complained about the thirst,
Welcoming the sun, even when it burned.
She learned to bloom in shadows,
Happy with the little attention she received.

She stayed, even when neglected,
Spreading fresh air to breathe,
A silent companion when no one else was around.
A quiet strength, unseen yet unwavering.

She stopped withering away.
She adapted.
She grew.
She became more than survival—
She became life itself.

It was fun watching
my toy ship and squeezy duck

succumb
to the soap-bubble undertow

made
by raging bathwater

from the faucet
into the tub

days gone by

or shall we say
submerged

I want to live my best life;
Getting back up, after I fall.
Forgiving myself, after I fail.
Laughing, when I make mistakes.
Being patient, when things take time
(to re-learn).
Because I have time;
To fall, fail, learn and get back up again.
I have time to live my best life,
Every day —

In the theater of souls,
I am a man!
But I think the thoughts
of a human.
I walk the eternal path
of spirituality,
Reflected in the light
of my reality.

I reached for the higher truth
as the old wives fables disintegrate
into the light of rational thinking.

Our light shines brighter
when we open our minds
and see through the darkness
we’ve been making.

Through the olive groves
to the village that sleeps
beneath the mountain
the collapse of human
kindness is far from me
the language of nature
is universal
the wild birds only know
songs of wisdom
the Cypress tree leans
upon its intelligence
it only speaks of peace
it has witnessed the
tragedy of war
there is happiness in the
falling of leaves
there is acceptance
in the whisper of the
restless wind ...

The Romantic
Is there ever
A day without thinking of you?
The sun gaps of light
Aren’t even bright anymore
I used to
stare at them and
visualize your
beautiful, beautiful face

Purple tendrils sway,
wind hums old forgotten songs,
stars blink, half-asleep.

Silver reeds bend low,
fish slip through quiet hands,
pond exhales, then stills.

Vines of ruby blood,
wild orchids kiss the cold earth,
fireflies blink, lost.
