Athena
Dolefully at first;
fled to fairest oak
Morose disposition wearied, uninhabitable
The exposition of a dissertation
Where could the lock be found?
Tactless inhibitions;
awake, awake and break the sound
The Kings and Queens and Wanderers
the Pirates and Peasants and Squanderers
Awake, awake
We wear all the same crown

Khoisan
I find myself chasing the tail of the meteor that was once my rock.
summer has burned up,
blown past, the thermometer
sinks stone-like, its silvers
dulled in metal tombs
no longer spiking red.

the wet leaf hangs lower
on the twig, the bird balances
on the branch, the day
fragments, its grey clouds
flowing under swiftly
closed doors.
I always thought our paths would re-intertwine

But yours got cut short and mine is left wandering at night

Maybe it's the romanticisation of what I can no longer hope to have

The boy on the rooftop, gone too fast
i was so lucky to have you

millions taking one last run
