I trace the freckles on your skin into maps of places I'm dying to explore
And today I finally understood the feeling of hunger and depth and passion as our bodies searched desperately for intimacy in one another.
But what we found was so much more,
as today I learned the feeling of not flinching at the thought of being touched.
And feeling the way your hands danced across the contour of my body, I finally felt like art.
And the moans that passed my lips is the music that we make
And I never want to stop singing for you.

at 7 am
i'll love you in soft whispers
and white.

at 12 pm
i'll love you in yellow
and the blinding sunlight.

at 3 pm
i'll love you in soft browns
and the pit-a-pat of the rain.

at 11 pm
i'll love you in warm bedsheets
and wishes of forever.

I surrendered my senses
to every word
that left your mouth
and landed
on my lips
silencing
all sense
of doubt

bodies awash with
sin and self loathing-
we fold into mutual
affections
like water.

pinpricks of light
force holes through
the curtains
and I hold your gaze,
mathematical
and steady.

my thoughts stumble
over broken lips
to bleed out into
the space between us
like a spring pig
at the slaughterhouse

and you smile,
trace my jaw
with your index finger,
but the words just
hang there
with the dust
glittering in the light.

touch me,
i'm real.
forgive me,
i'm ill.

We are edging toward
the crest of December-
it looms, unforgivingly
over the horizon.

My mind is filled
with thick paints
and heavy smoke.
You stand askance
like some forgotten
silhouette,
begging for reprieve
in the waning moon glow.

I drink a little more,
and create tangible feelings
on tepid surfaces-
working like a madman
to keep the wolves at bay.

And I care about you
a little bit less
every day.
It was more than love -
A love beyond limits...
They were the first to discover
This newfound emotion,

It wasn't from this world,
It was divine - It must have fallen
From the heavens
When the skies opened;
There must have been
A titanic galactic explosion.

This newfound emotion
Rained down upon them,
That very first night
That their eyes met,
As they both gazed up
To the brilliant pure-white stars,

They were pulled together
By a magnetic energy,
They saw more than love light-up
In each other's eyes -
This was when
Their two worlds collided;
This was when
Venus fell for Mars.
