wrapped into you, my love,
i cannot be closer,

the rains flood the rivers
with their green
summery banks,

nettles in the dead land,

a hint of the sun,

kisses, unforgettable,
lips made of falling seas.

look beyond the midnight skies
well past where the dim light dies
what you might find in the dark
is a brand new way to realize

look beyond what your eyes see
to where your thoughts try to flee
what you might find in your mind
is a brand new way to be free

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Charles Michael Province, U.S. Army, wrote the poem

i love him despite his imperfections.
i love him despite the mistakes we’ve both made
i love him despite how much we’ve hurt each other
i love him unconditionally because that’s what i promised him
i love him because i know that what we had can’t be replicated
our love wasn’t easy or simple or straightforward
it was insane, and it was an absolute force of nature: destructive at times, but when it was good, **** it was great
we made each other happy
despite the arguments and the fights, we loved each other so much it hurt.
we were a couple of children but god it was magical
i love him because he said a part of him would always love me
i love him because he said that if it weren’t for anyone else, we’d still have a chance
i love him because i believe in what we had

She is beautiful.
Lives in the eye of the beholder.
She is stunning.
Shunned by society.
Her skin is thickened.
It has to be.
Face to face daily with adversity.
She is a motherless child.
Grown up now.
Mother's still there.
A childless mother.
She is a lady unlike any other.
As such she will thrive.
She's staying alive.
Living and breathing.
Taking five.
Gasping and striving.
Making a living.
The power of the voice.
A choice.
Only she can make.

i can't keep giving someone the best of me just to keep watching them choose someone else.
written in another poem of mine that i won't post, sadly

when we discovered
each other i was
so ill equipped.
but could you have ever
imagined that touching
could be so adventurous.

I don't know what to do,
with the things life has given me.
Maybes,
Changes,
And too many "ifs".

I don't know if anybody will ever stay.

Where are you going,
And,
Can I come with you?
