far wide overseas and here
my kin are so ingrained    in me all phases
of them the Irish
German Dutch Cherokee
Heinz Fifty Seven and more
I am a mutt
don't know one person here who isn't
so take claim
to nothing all you
traditionalists that cry for
America's sovereignity
it ain't so
we all mixed
not a pure American here more than me
or anyone

Breeze-Mist
Some hear static and no more
Some hear a lion's roar

Some see an oil leak on pavement
Some see swirled caligraphy on parchment

Some see a worthless industrial junkyard
Some see a playground better than their yards

Some see a run down city street
Some see it as a great place for a band to meet

Some see a vacant, remote field
Some see a backwoods campsite to yeild

Some see scrawling on a bathroom wall
Some see the frustrated creativity 'neath it all
My always black shoes
I love them so much
Reminding me of the size of my shoes
When too little...
Children are playing
Hearing their voices
Bikes are laughing
rainbows on their pictures...
Why are YOU laughing ?
When the Jasmines are not white
anymore in my every month's loosing blood
I love my black shoes so much
I cry when looking at my mom's face

The outside of inside has me scratching again,
Looking under my bed for lost M ‘n M’s
And terrorists without their mothers.
How silly, how serious,
How insane America has become.
War comes big time and solid.
The rust belt won’t have to worry now.
You be building caskets for millions soon.
Resist. Resist. Resist. Resist. Resist.
He is dangerous beyond belief. Voter suppression is their goal. Resist.

Someone whispers to him “calm your heart,” but the crimson streaked flesh that beats soft wet palpitations hastens his impatience to face what’s coming. He has no armor or weapon only the determination to do what is right.
Four chambers are thudding like the boots a coming. Men in black garbs marching with fully loaded chambers, clear plastic shields up, and black sticks ready to bludgeon. Their anger is oppositional to their opponent’s fog of fear, fatigue, and determination.

“Breath my child,” a gentle voice says. A sharp pain pierces on the back of his head. A thin line begins to ride down his neck. Someone yells “get down!”
One row of men raise their hands, eyes turned upward. The soft voice in his head says” be strong.”
Billows of grey smoke spew from a black canister. Strangers and familiars choke and gasp, eyes watering. Dreams of a bygone era play out in his mind. A tall thin brown sweaty woman smiles, moving down the road while singing we shall overcome. Dogs snap viscously at her compatriots. A fire pushes her siblings back with skin scraping pressure. A few of them fall, and couple falter in the struggle but most keep marching. Her brother, who is tall slightly bulky but wears the well-earned muscles of a man who labored hard all his life, clenches his fists, preparing to strike. She pulls him back. “Be strong, and gentle baby brother.”

They continue to sing “We shall overcome.”

In his mind the young man sees his mother smiling, saying “"Be calm, saith my heart. I am a warrior. I have seen far worse than this." He smiles through the pain stands up and chants “Hands up don’t shoot. Hands up don’t shoot.” Another brother rises behind him yelling “Black lives matter. Black lives matter.” A thin nerdy pale white guy cries we shall overcome, not in a singing tone, but it still rings beautifully. The struggle continues.

Sit closer to the edge.
Move a brave bit nearer,
Put your curious nose over the side,
And look down.
See how far you can fall.

Now look up,
Shield your eyes from a constant sun,
Breathe calmly and focus on details,
Talk to yourself,
See how far you can rise.

You will die.
So, when will you decide.

little half grown girl
has no company to play with
no pets or toys
lives by her wit again

begins the day by
kicking pebbles along the path
no direction
just any which way to

fro off the side
counting their bounces as they go
down to the grass
off the path they are now

nothing better
to count on mom numb dad long gone
frowns seem as sad
as pebbles do when kicked

just getting a rush that blush of ***
the first play of the game the homer touchdown
the goal started on the way
must continue that way forever until

cheerleaders dance kick legs up
the band marches along the sidelines
forming a parade
of excitement starts builds

up the crescendo the rush
again rises to a crowd cheering *******
crazy rise above the bleachers
onto the streets

spills out wildly
uncontrolled onto Bourbom street
onto First Avenue
in the dawn the tires burn
