How quiet it must have been
for you, Michael Collins...
How calm it must have seemed
for you, Michael Collins...
How tranquil you must have felt
up there alone
with no one on the radio,
except for you, Michael Collins...

Doing something no one had done
with no one around to see
because you were in a place no one had been
with no way to share what you saw
because even radios fail that far away from home.
But not you, Michael Collins...

How dark was it in there
with not even the sun to guide your way?
How still was the air
with not even the wind to make a sound?

How many times did you ask yourself,
Michael Collins,
if you would ever see home again?
How many times did you think to yourself,
Michael Collins,
that you might not ever again
see the faces you remember?

On that clearest night,
did the stars not seem brighter than before?
Upon coming into the sun again,
did you,
Michael Collins,
not feel lighter than before?

It must have been strangely startling
to have been startled by that strange crackle
coming from the radio.
For another human voice to sound so foreign
yours must have been a lie.

How did it feel leaving that void,
Michael Collins,
and crashing back into existence?
How soon did it feel,
to you, Michael Collins,
that your feet were back on the ground?

I imagine you must miss that silence.
...
I imagine you must
from time to time
walk far far away
and look at the stars.

I would ask you one question if I could,
Michael Collin,
on the clearest night
when you look up into that darkness
have the stars ever been brighter than before?

meet me at the corner like we're naïve again
before we were afraid of the dark and would rule night, again
let me climb over your wall and tap on your window
let's go run our kingdom
when the town is sleeping, we own them
the two of us, princes:
reckless and brave,
too mischievous and star-eyed
to be told to behave
I wasn't afraid of the dark when you would rule it by my side

she is so cute and funny and resolute
I like her wrinkles her pooch
her smile her frown her absolute

Her mean look trying
to change my bad self
her scolding me

of how my hair is so wild
and I might have glanced
at that cute girl's ***

or how she likes green things
me, a bit more preference
towards

powdery substances
but then she
does seem to support

me mentally when
all the clouds blacken
the

worst **** falls down around me
how
I ask you

could she not be a saint?
How might I not love her
more

with every ******* day?

Alone in a room of people
Everyone is talking
You want to speak your mind
Then you remember that one person
Who told you to shut up
And now not a ******* thing matters
...
Yeah
Come, fly with me
my soul cannot be still
with your alpine eyes watching me
and your smile
filling my veins
with bubbles of ecstasy

we were never anything,
but, oh, you were my everything:
my hazel-eyed addiction,
my heaven and my hell.
we sat hidden in the tunnels of a playground
pretending we were children
playing make-believe
to the tune of cicada sound.
i've recalled too many times, now,
the sunlight in your lashes,
but maybe one day it won't be true
if i say it again:
when i spent last summer
next to you at the poolside
i wished
(i wish)
it would (have) never (had to) end
purging the part of me that still loves the ice girl

hindi ko alam
wala akong magawa
ang bigat sa pakiramdam
gusto ko na itong mawala

mahal kita
hindi ko ipagkakaila
ngunit wala akong magawa
kundi pumayag na itigil na

kahit ayaw kong itigil
damdamin hirap ipigil

i was a mere withering grass, you were a morning dew.
you succumbed to the power of gravity, i let the wind blew me away — we crossed path.

i was a palpitating mess with faint pulses beneath my skin;
and so were you, i found out.

we still are.

Through this weighted and wanted life we live
Handshakes, hugs, and smiles we give
Patience and temperament tried
Will broken and tears cried
There's a lot more to life than just surviving

Life's greatest pleasures
Lie within the smile of a child
Or the whispers of the wind
The only mysteries worth solving
Are those that lay within

Have you ever watched the sun chase the moon?
Did you know it was just another love story?
Our unique perspectives are what make us
And it's okay for us all to be different

This is something that makes it so special
When we cross paths with those who we can relate
A kindred soul
Someone cut from the same mold

Keep your happiness simple
And you will see
Not only will you survive
You will thrive
And be free
