Emily Dickinson
1720

Had I known that the first was the last
I should have kept it longer.
Had I known that the last was the first
I should have drunk it stronger.
Cup, it was your fault,
Lip was not the liar.
No, lip, it was yours,
Bliss was most to blame.

If i were daft enough to falter
and die next Tuesday week
Would anyone
Be kind enough to care?

And If it were on Wednesday
when they laid me down to rest
Would it just be me and t’ vicar
who were there?
Another silly  one.. A more serious one later perhaps.

A mistress of her space
She moves,
with the airy grace
of a dancer.
No effort spared;
no gesture wasted
Choreographing breakfast
In her roadside trailer-cafe .

The lady running the diner on tbe A 59 near Beamsley not only  prepared a sausage and egg bun and  a bacon and egg bun she did so with such style and grace it was genuinely beautiful. This poem is for her.

You look like a light-colored satin
Stars f
          a
            l
              l on your caramel hair
Your laureate crown is permanent

You walk fast as a local feline
L'Empereur far from his throne
You look disoriented
You look tired

It's nightfalling
Resolution parts
The moon shines
Gold minds

Lace L'étoile
Jeune ace
Shiny sleeves

I go through a mirror
You're sitting in there
I hide carefully
Not to be alert
I have found myself again
Dreaming of you inside
The reflection of your mirror

At night my opal
                           sleeves are made of satin.

Modern poem
If i cook the oceans
And freeze the seas
If bring butterflies out of my hat
And rabbits of the skies
If i be a light to brighten your day
Will you stay ?

Will you stay ?
If i use my tears to paint an image of you
Use my heart to make you heart beats
Burn you warmth anytime your hands are cold

Will you stay ?
If i kneel on the floor
Will you open that door
And never remember everything we want to have

Will you stay ?
If i put a knife in my lungs
Just to show
The air i am breathing is you

Will you stay ?
If i kiss the sun for you
Even if i burn

Will you stay ?
If i make the rain
Fall under us
If i make the skies snow
When it shines
Will you stay ?

You may both share
all of the love in this world,
but it still won't be enough
to fix certain things,

It could very possibly be
that very love,
that you both share,
that is responsible for your
shattered souls
and broken wings!

There are two kinds of people in this world.
There are those of us, who will look at pictures of the past and feel awash with a glowing warmth, remember the perfection of those single moments.
And then there are others among us, others like you and I, who view photos much the same way, yet feel much less euphoric, because while we also take the moment to remember that perfection, we use the next millennia of moments to lament the passing of this perfection
Just came to me, so here it is. I guess I'll also share my thoughts on the new site layout since that seems to be the trend. Well, not that it's a unique opinion, but I feel that given time (and a quick fix to all the errors and glitches people are getting) it could (key word being could) come out better than most people are expecting it to be. Maybe they could have beta tested the layout before releasing it en mass, but it's an attempt at a breath of fresh air. Give them a chance to at least attempt to iron out the kinks before we make complete and total judgements.
