I am not a sheep
I am not a lamb
I will not docilate our race
That's just the way I am.

Humanity is a strange beast
we claim to be the sheep,
But for our Shepherd we do not weep

We are like the Hound
to the "Laws of Claw and Fang"* we are bound

We are a pack
Not a herd
Upon the weak we feed
Not upon those whom might attack.

So to call us a sheep
Is really quite absurd
For at least a sheep
Is safe in its loving herd
A reference to call of the wild.  I do not wish to receive any issue with this.  But it's a great book. Worth a read.

Woman of the day
93 on the news
Strong eyes
Awake Present
Smiling from hospital
Bed when asked if
She could
Forgive the
Two men who broke in
Hit her
Robbed her
Left her in her own old blood

Yes Yes I do I think about
Them

Mirror-faced with
The cold feeling of
-Razor in hand-
Having taken off
Too much beard.

This knowing you made
The argument
Ugly.

purple orchid
Blood shot eyes,
drunk with regrets infused
with cheap beer,
Laughing at our own stupidity
As we fall, stumble
and pick each other up,
only to wobble again
We'll blissfully endure the
nausea
and throbbing headaches cause we've been through
much much worse,
Together.

Knowing us,
we'll probably end up on
some rooftop at 3 in the
morn,
In a drunken haze
counting the stars one by one,
confessing our well-kept
secrets,
and vomiting all the bile that
life fed us

Sure with heads spinning,
and the blurry vision
accompanied by endless
'little room' visits
we'll say
'Never again',
Only to turn it around with
another round

When misery finds us,
Don't fret
I'll hold the cracked mirror
to your face, you do the same
And we'll find humor in our imperfections
And there, we'll dance to our temporary happiness

When they dare tell us
'You're too young to be empty',
We'll look at them
Look at us
And burst into laughter
I'll be here,
through drunken nights
and sober days,
Always.

A triumphant voice denotes
A life leaving this room.
We should not be surprised;
It tells us:
I once was there where many stories
          filled many shelves.
And now, another memory becomes
Another treasure to mine in days of leisure.
          We join in exultation.

There is less serious work about now.
We step in and out of shadows
Cast by the sun filtering through
Her tree and picture window.
The shadows reach many rooms.

She and I were present
In many of Shakespeare's tombs.
Together we witnessed Royalty paraded:
Elinore, Lear, Macbeth, The Dane.
Her lineage is confirmed.
Our busy stage is less crowded
With the exit of La Grande Dame,
Elizabeth.
Funeral euology for a Great-Grandmother.

Dad's been gone half a decade now
& I still remember
him lying there
in his bed
with me crying
while he was giving up the ghost
& when I heard his last breath,
I was the witness
to his death
& I wonder,
how many I got left.

The Last Wordsmith
Don’t throw away the poems the poems I write
I know they won’t matter. Not after tonight
Maybe for a little while, rereading them will hurt.
But eventually, my words will be meaningful as dirt
You won’t even hear my voice whispering each word
In your head. It'll be some other voice that is heard
Don’t throw them away okay? Don’t throw away me
Don't throw away all that we used to be.
It's not about me, it's about something one of my friends said. I just reworded it to fit how I would feel in a similar situation. This reminded me of burning things in a fire.... I bet that hurt too. I'm sorry

Awake throughout the night
I gaze at the canopy above
Lit with numerous twinkling stars
Making me feel like a star
As if the stage is set for me to ponder
The luxury of the quietness, is priceless
At night, the mind seems the brightest
When the fountain of thought overflows
Replenishing the queries of the heart
The busy mind slows down
A rendezvous between the mind and heart starts
That is only when my doubts are cleared
I am a silent audience, listening to the reasoning
The heart and the mind are my guides
Providing me the guiding light, for the road ahead
And the night seems brighter compared to day
As consciousness gets a new lease of life
To get me through another journey, the next day
And the night is a reminder, it’s there for me
To host me at the center stage, showering me with stars
By night, I prepare for another day**

The Masked Sleepyz
I ask how she's been,
like a villain,
she says she can smile,
without me and for a while,
I'll believe,
but I'm running too,
to a place that is new,
where I can serenade girls that dont know what I say,
with poems of beauty and they will stay,
smiling and I'll kiss them,
she knows what I am saying,
but ignores the flaying,
of my muse and myself,
I guess it is for my own health,
I tell her that she is a badass,
along with all that I loved when a lass,
but she is my past,
and I am running to my future
She told me I irritated her and to delete her number...so I did and told her I am glad she is irritated because at least she is feeling something

This transparent veil to cover transparency is suffocating me.

I want to rip off this fabric and know that when I touch your flesh you feel the compassion, not the contact
I want to knock teeth when we kiss and hear thundering laugh and not the muffled titters of nervousness
I want 10 minutes to go by and we're already buried deep in our conversation via messages
Because I don't care.  I don't care that there's this new found stigma that caring is out and mysterious is in. Because I don't care if you text me without a reason, because oh hey!  I was just thinking about you!  Because I like your company, because I'm tired of deciphering ambiguous words.  Because life isn't a ******* code.  It's thrilling, it's open, it's here.  I'm here.

I want you to know I'm here.

To the woes that fill your silence and make you weary,
You say, you will not sway from what you believe.
To the ****** choices you're doomed to carry,
You say, you will, one day, overcome.
A little motivation goes a long way, I've heard. :)

I found -in the shadow of a
Crane rigged and ready- that
I couldn't help myself.

Took a ladder to the huge sphere
Of chipped and battered iron,
And threw one leg on either
Side of the chain.

Sang leaning and rocking
Into the walkie talkie
As my foreman spat his
Coffee not to choke; laughing along
With Swedes, Polish, Lithuanians
And Norwegians alike.

Miley. Bringing people
Together.
