Deep down in the depths of my ****** veneer,
I hear my name.

Do I answer or just stay here nestled in the vapour of Lethe?
Oblivion has merits, concealment of self in still water.

Aimlessly, carelessly swirling in drowsy drug fuelled forgetfulness.
Before we die we drink this water and pass on unhindered.

Ties are undone, people and places, completely erased
to be reincarnated, entering flesh again.

My name again is called, and with this sound comes memories.
I want to stay on the shore of Lethe. But, no.

Selfishness pulls me back to sight and sound
I am dead amongst the living.

In Phaedo, Plato makes his teacher Socrates, prior to his death, state: "I am confident that there truly is such a thing as living again, and that the living spring from the dead."

Look at me
Look at me
I'm scared into flames
And I feel there ought to be a joke round here
Somewhere
Hold onto me
Hold onto me
I'm flying into space
And I can't find anything that matters here
Nothing really matters

Flying high
Flying way too high
With nothing to hold onto
And needing nothing at all
Because everything is possible
So, let my wings glisten in the sun
For tomorrow I crash hard into the ground

Where does one go, when his mind goes, that place
Noone knows.

Searching for something
Not sure where to go
Just feeling around
In a big empty hole

The darkness is blinding
I can't find my way
My senses are gone
I wish they would have stayed

My path is uncertain
The future unknown
The choices to make
I must make all alone

There's nothing to help me
My time's running out
I better choose quickly
There's no time for doubt

I hope that my future
And what waits for me
Will somehow be bright
I'll be happy and free

But first there's this choice
I must find my way
Should I leave all I know?
Or be safe and just stay?

Shruti Atri
It was selfish of her
To leave.
She needed the change;
Had to move,
Having been stuck so long
She felt suppressed,
And so depressed.
She just needed to leave,
But where could she start?

He was easiest to leave,
The most convenient to cut off;
He didn't hold on,
He didn't even try.
She didn't know,
Was she angry
That it was easy for her to leave?
Or that he didn't even try to stop it?

But she had to leave,
The reasons didn't matter,
The semantics were moot,
Whether he wanted her to,
Or he didn't--
Whether she wanted to,
Or she didn't want him to let her;
Nothing mattered.

It was truly selfish of her
To leave.
She had to fly
And he made it easy for her
To leave him behind...

Those lost in war
are mostly
gone for good,
but sometimes
their ghosts pry
my ears open
and softly
weep into them.
I can only listen
and wonder,
why not me?

South by Southwest
I'm tired of twisting in my days
Looking for a thin straight line
The Minotaur looked at me
I could see the Theseus
there upon his mind

The labyrinth is not the same
It's turned into a maze
I have no more reasons now
I must be on my way

So the Minotaur made reservations
The Mediterranean
Is nice this time of year
He flew tourist class
With a herd of after Christmas deer

Minos called and made his request
Come back this instance
Was his plea
But the Minotaur was bullheaded about it
There's more to this than you , it's me

So the Minotaur stayed upon his beach
Never regretting making the call
Trapped inside our living labyrinth
Is one maze too tall

It's his birthday
Can't help but
Tell him I love him

It's been a heavenly day
Coffee, kisses & cigarettes
Neck bites, flirtatious disses
Romantic, sappy poems
He makes me feel alive
In every possible way

His brown eyes
Gives me
Butterflies
His smile
Makes me
Weak inside

Those french kisses though
So hot, unbelievable
Makes me fall
Under his spell
Every single night
Our love is so right
