I fell into this world
When someone clipped my wings
I landed on your doorstep
Causing you to dream

You set me on a throne
Then crowned me with your lies
You said to get behind you
Yet you keep me by your side

I wonder if you realize
The power that I have
Every time you hate me
And when I make you mad

I know you’ll come around
And make your sacrifice
Perhaps you’ll beat your children
Perhaps you’ll cheat your wife

That’s all fine and dandy
‘Cause they’ll love you just the same
As long as you believe in me
You’ll have someone else to blame

I came out of the north-west
Staggering from the storm
The surgeons had repaired my body
And my mind hung by one hinge
So I headed for the coast of Wales
To assume the healing rhythm of the sea
And breathe the briny air
Where no-one knew me
Nor called my worn out name
Sweet freedom in isolation

And so, in smiling solitude
I walked and smoked too much
Staring at the moody ocean
As we all inevitably do
As though it holds answers
And indeed it does
The answer is "being"

One hot but breezy day
I followed the coast from north to south
Not too far but far enough
Until I came upon a harbour
Tiny and insignificant
But a harbour nonetheless
With a clutch of small boats
Bobbing and swaying lazily
On the backwater slack water tide
And somewhere close by
A nautical bell tolled the rhythm
Of an endless heedless movement
And an oddly comfortable melancholy
Rocked me in it's arms
Lost and found
Beginning and end

In as much as everything matters
Though nothing matters much
This place was nothing to me
No more than countless others
But that harbour bell
So patient and so constant
Touched something deeper than knowledge
Perhaps it was the state of my health
Or the glowing heat of the day
But some vulnerable receptor
Vibrated to that gentle toll
I've been in many places in my life
And seen wondrous famous sights
All seared into my minds eye
But their memories will last no longer
Than the haunting harbour bell

If a djinn could grant
My only three wishes
Your soul I'd enchant
With limitless riches

With boundless visions
Of dancing witches cast-
Ing, fire from spliffs, this
Grass smokes so delicious

Smoke's so capricious
Swirling in wind like thoughts
Gone in an instant
Winds lost to our vision

Make your decision.
Signed in blood, your silver
Lined medallion
Mark of the magician.

Reconciliation
Ravens speak with dogs teeth
Cleansing breathe of fire
Bless my intuition.

In close  quarters I sat
Pondering my days of longevity
Oh, how the days do seem to pass

And how can I even use the term 'longevity'
Twenty six years and my life has only begun

But some grow old long before their time
And the days begin to slide one into the other

And I wonder, is this how everyday shall come to pass?
The night comes to a close
And then the week comes to a close
And eventually years come to a close
And finally im old and my life has come to a close as well?

Can we never escape the old wise father of time?

I'd like to believe that every minute isn't watched
That even free time isn't run on a schedule
But eventually every time is up
And when it comes I'll be ready

My time will have been expired
But not in haste
For every prophecy I have ever dreamed of
Will have been fulfilled

Time races onward unseeing, unseen,
Leaving traces of the places its presence has been,
Capturing moments that once roamed free,
Hoarding them in cages called memories.

So we race behind it, to find where it leads,
Run through the current its movement leaves,
Pushing our lives forward, one breath at a time,
We wonder what waits at the finishing line.

Cookie cutter beef cakes
Rockin all the colored tanks, but
Thanks for the tips, since
It seems that you've had
One too many sips, lad
Slippery slopes are steeper when
Your mind is floating in liquor
And your sick as a *******,
Dirtbag getting lucky
Loose lips or legs? I...
Can't really tell the difference
Anyway, these trees are
Keepin me shady, gators
Sleeping in the shallows
Hallowed be Thy white Jesus and
Hallelujah drunk Christians
God forgave or forgot us?
I don't really remember
Fishing with Moses, while
Parting red roses, pedals
Counting our precious metals
Settle down now younglings
The partie's only just started.

It was a beautiful day
When I lifted the shades
It seemed as if things
Were going my way

Then I noticed the shadow
Coming up from the rear
It fell on a black day
My greatest fear

I'll shake it off
Sleep'in real late
That's how it goes
In a world full of hate

The light had gone from this woman
Her days now became lonely and dark
She would go to the shoreline
To repair what had been torn apart
She would shout out to the shoreline
O please bring me a new light, a new moon
I am tired of feeling lonely and dark
Will you please bring it to me soon
Just like that the gilded clouds did part
to reveal to her a new moon
Time for this woman to have light again
Time for her to be swooned
This new moon was most welcoming
with his arms open wide
Lit up this beautiful woman again
and brought out the pearl we knew was inside

"where night is... the burying cloud"

the sea glistens, dark waves
melt along the coast, crashing
onto the beach, dreaming
of summer love and
shimmering star.

i dream of you,
taste your lips
like cherry-steel,
consertina like
a paper lantern
played with
by the breeze,

my lips give way
to your lips,
love to your love,
everything is
shiny like a silver
bowl,

carry me like a
stream to the
waves of your love
and i'll melt there
forever, my love,
just for you.
