The Lunchtime Poet
I'm impressed
With the ladies on this site
So much talent
Amazing words they can write

Lady RF
And her magic pen
Looking forward
To reading you again

Your highness
Ultimate Panic Queen
Writing so good
It's really obscene

Oh Gwendolyn
Our talented gypsy
Writing so intoxicating
It makes me feel tipsy

Penelope the Poet
A creative young scribe
Reading your stuff
Gives me a sweet vibe

Valsa George
A writer of nature and things
When I read her
A smile it brings

Sedoo Ashivor
Writing poems with such taste
Every word having meaning
Not one she will waste

Thank you to all you wonderful ladies
For the work you share
I'm headed back to Hello Poetry
I hope to see you there

Lost you then

Never will again

You were the comfort

When I was upset

As you lay next to me

When I was in bed

When you weren't there

Are the moments I lack

This was a while ago

When you had your final moments

I didn't know

When I looked at you

It made me smile

Even though you had

A lazy lifestyle

I loved you then

Still do now

If I could forget about you

I wouldn't know how

Sometimes we try to recreate heaven on earth

Making gardens

Inventing shortcuts

Discovering secrets in and out

Looking through our numerous paths

Trying desperately to find

The perfect one

But this isn't the way to do things

Follow a straight line

If it is struggling

Find footsteps to forever follow

For eternity will you have guidance

Across the path

Unfortunately what goes up

Must come down

If you hurry

Then you are likely to trip over

Your own feet

Just remember

That shortcuts may be harmful

Never forget these words

Move slowly

And good will follow

Playing it safe will be your motto.

Undo these pearls from around my neck, slip them off slowly .I want to feel your hands tangled in these gossamer strands unraveling my secrets mind, body and soul .

The sun  is brightly shinning
may it shine through my thoughts
and break away the cobwebs deep within my mind
I had a head injury (concussion) in mid April and have still been experiencing problems such as extreme headaches and difficulties with my vision and slight memory difficulties.

Laundry detergent
and love, broken hearted
Dark nights and witches
and dearly departed

Death in the front yard
with bright flowers blooming
Winter and summer,
all seasons are looming

Fireflies, evergreens,
balloons colored yellow
A beautiful woman,
an old grouchy fellow

The sun and the moon
and the stars that are shining
Laughter and teardrops,
occasional whining

Sunrises, sunsets,
the beach and the ocean
A walk in the park
or a magical potion

A bird on a fence
or a babe in a cradle
The dish and the spoon
ran away with a ladle?

*** that is sensual,
pain that is hurting
Humor and drama,
some things I am blurting

Long ones and shorts ones
and some in between
A king in a castle
defending his queen

Rhyming and free verse,
it’s endless and mounting
Ten words or haiku
and syllable counting

Written out stanzas
of how we are feeling
Even an orange
that someone is peeling

Riding a horse
or just crossing a river
Feathers and leaves
and all things that do quiver

So many thoughts
I have found that are waiting
Here on this site
there is no hesitating

To all the poets
with pens always bleeding
Thank you so much
for the poems I’m reading

For all of you
that I get to call friend
Here is a poem for you
I have penned
Inspired by The Victorian Cinderella's poem "Her exact words ~" and all of the poets and poetry I read on this site. Thx so much for the fun.

patterns pressed
in old vinyl
needle-scratched
pop and crackle
background noise
just genetic ambiance
old as the blues
smoky aftertaste
blessing     curse
lost fortune
lured fate
lessons earned
the hard way

long playing
at 33 1/3 rpm
I'm humming
no resistance
my will altered
I submit
to inevitable vacillation
accept ambiguity
as sweet song
lyrics unknown
an uneven melody
I can't deny
or disown
