The quieter he became ...
the more he could feel
only a single lit candle
moved the stillness ,
gripping the void between
lucency and obscure darkness

longing eyes slipped slowly closed
as the flicker faded ,
inner quietude dimming all light
the darker it got ...
the more vividly he could see

a nearly silent exhaled sigh
let the memories flood ;
leaning into the bereft
where there once was light ,
he became a timeless silence
                              without form
                     only shaped by retracing
                        re-remembered words

yearning to understand
some of the greater things life unfolds
experiencing the unknown
                             without fear ,
                      for to clinch and feel
that which seems indefinable

     for here ,
in this formless
manifest dimension ,
all layers of essence
are peeled back
to the bared aurora
of a soul's spirit light ;

at the core of inner stillness
      nothing is impossible
...

Should a primitive tribe be civilized?
Are we civilized or savage?

Leave them the aborigines to their home
in peace
their abode in the depth of forest.

But where's their abode?
we cut the jungle and made road
where would their babies be born?
in the smoke of engines blaring of horns
so hard for them to birth
on the dwindling patch of their earth
our Paleolithic ancestors' living fossils
who with iron will
fought bullets with bows and arrows
now falling by the bullies of progress
begging for last living space.

Leave them the way they lived so long
unspoiled with their own education and culture
let them retain their own way of life
and not make them civilized the way we are.
Jarawas, an indigenous tribe of the Andaman Islands, India.
Their population restricted to Middle Andaman is estimated to be around 400.
Encroachment in the name of progress in their core area has made them vulnerable and endangered.
This write is based on my experience while working in the Middle Andaman.

Anger is an emotion which is natural and perhaps sometimes necessary but if unchecked it can cause irrepairable damage to your soul..you need to know as to when to display it and when to curb it.

Sharp edges are boundaries
in our perceptions which exhibit
the persistent illusion of a mind plus world..
So we allow the encroachment of Awareness
to soften the sharp
to expose the illusion
and bring us to discovery
of the Self reality
which as background lies ..
Allowing the sharp edges
to be sharp once more
made now of persistent Beauty...
Thought for the day....... “Miracles... seem to me to rest not so much upon... healing power coming suddenly near us from afar but upon our perceptions being made finer, so that, for a moment, our eyes can see and our ears can hear what is there around us always.” Willa Cather

With our thoughts and perceptions
we give credence to separation:
a self which experiences the world
the world we have always known..
Better however..an apparent self
seeming to experience an
unfolding world..
Even Better..an unperturbed Self
colored and shaped
but knowing only My Self..
But perhaps Best..simply I am...

Faith is blind
To the fear of lines
That led our conscience here
Many will but I won't
Pretend the path is clear

Many of us know
Yet we'll never say
How long have our tongues
Been tied this way

Unwarranted
To keep us safe
Faith takes up
The empty space
Where dreams exceed
The absolutes
Subjectively tied
   To an objective truth...

lucky is the family
that can celebrate
more birthdays for their living
than for their dead

I recall
her lost smile

like a sketch
I draw from my memory

and those days in the rain
laughing, drops

hitting the creek
slow as a dream

until a shadow
fell across the mirror

brushing her hair
in a dark room

like a honeycomb
of sad bees

and double entendres
two lifetimes ago.
