what i write
is a reflection
about my life.
life has taught me how to write.
I'm going to try
taking only
one breath at a time,

I'm going to try
taking only
one day at a time.

I'm going to try
to override my anxious heart
and my chaotic mind,

I'm going to try
to be stronger,
and I am going to pray harder
for some relief;
this is what I hope to find!

Looking back
Is a part of mind
It's a part of living
As our lives unwind

No love forgotten
No heart un-broke
Life goes on
No
You're not a ghost

Your eyes stare unblinking
In the distance

Heart beats slowing
As I carve the language of my love
With sticks and stones,
On your creamy skin
And watch it stain with ochre

It feels like centuries ago
I bandaged the very wounds
I now watch,
Throbbing

Your tears have long dried
Quenched by ethereal lovers
You concocted in your mind,
Thirsty
And entranced by your sweet
Smile

And now you are a barren, dry,
Wilderness
Your distant cries lost in the darkness
And screams muffled
By the choking embrace of death

A blank canvas
Devoid of hope,
Dreams and aspirations

But as your eyes glass over
I know you have finally
met the One who will love you,
For eternity

It's over now
Your grasp on my hand loosens
Your scent lingering
as the wind carries you away.

It's the gift and curse of the artist,
To peak so high and drop so low.
This work seems like not the hardest,
Emotional damage seldom shows.
Inspiration formed in heartbreak,
A mighty hurricane of change.
Emotions finally able to make,
But then scatter out of range.

It's how characters become reality,
The artist's vision begins to show.
Through the high and low duality,
Our hero meets his greatest foe.
If this tale is autobiographical,
Then I shall control the story.
But which ending is more appicable:
Greatest failure or greatest glory?
