Blood

There is so much blood in a woman's life.
When she is born from another woman,
She is covered in it.
All through out her childhood,
There are scraped knees and missing teeth.
The first sign of her coming adult hood,
Is blood, betrayed from her own body.
The first time she gives away a piece of herself,
To love, or circumstance, or by no means her choice,
There is blood, bleeding away a piece of herself.
Then, when she gives another life,
There is blood.
In the baby she loves,
And coursing through her own veins.
Every day her child is outside her,
She bleeds, but this you cannot see.

A second heart beats inside her,
Like the world's smallest drum.
A tiny foot seemingly kicks to the rhythm.
One day, the foot stopped kicking,
And the tiny heart stopped beating,
Then her heart stopped too.
Frozen in her chest,
She has loved nothing since.

Values

Some people live their lives
Like economists.
They see the price of everything,
And the value of nothing.
Do not decrease your value,
Just because someone does not See your worth. -

You sit like a thousand pounds of led on my chest,
You linger in my lungs and take the life from my breath.
Remember that I will not forget you,
Not now; no, not yet.

Walls

She was strong
Strong as steel
She was so strong
But she could still feel

She was strong
And so was her call
But just as strong
Around her heart, were walls

The walls were strong
So, so strong.
To keep out boys who might do her wrong
But along came a boy
Who told her things that she never knew
And to her surprise, this boy stayed true.

And after a while, she saw he was still there
And yes she was strong
But it takes strength to care.

So she opened her door
And let him inside
He rebuilt her walls
So she didn't have to hide

He rebuilt the walls
And put windows in
So that the warm, warm sunshine could come flooding in.
Still waiting for a boy to rebuild my walls

eat breakfast with your gold spoon
sit in the front seat of your Porsche
arrive at school with your Louis Vuitton bag
make fun of the kid in a wheelchair during break
eat cold lunch and call the lunch lady fat
laugh at the girl with acne on her face
threaten the teacher when she sends you out of class
get picked up in your Porsche
flick off the kid walking home
have friends over and destroy the house
tell your maid to clean it up
eat dinner with your gold fork
admire your sports awards while you brush your teeth
lay in bed and hate yourself

full name
I'm not weak

I'm a warrior
My face painted with black mascara during battle
My body painted with red blood after I fight
My head screams while
My body screams while
My mouth screams while
My lungs run out

The enemy surprises me whenever they get the chance
They come in the night
3 AM is the closest your body is to death on a daily basis
I'm sure my reasoning isn't the same as yours
Or I hope

The enemy is sabotaging me
Taking over my hands as it shakes out
2 more pills
5 more pills
8 more pills
Here it goes down better with a little cough syrup
How sweet of the voices

My left arm has been badly wounded
The drips down my fingertips
I'll fight on
I'll make it out alive

Sometimes they find me in the bathroom
And right before I'm about to drown
The enemy resuscitates me
What a *******
Just let it happen

The crash hits around now
I fall asleep
On my floor
My t shirt with drips of blood

I wake in the morning, victorious.
Time for school.
