Living alone,
I am randomly
eccentric.

It's not a quirk,
if no one sees.

Often at odd hours,
day or night,
I sneak a glance
at my mirror
hoping
to be surprised
by a young
and happy
reflection.

Never happens.

You will like mirrors less as you age.

some may prefer violence
to being always ignored
a busted lip,  a swollen eye
to being always bypassed

some prefer constant abuse
to being always neglected
a bruised ego, a battered thigh
to being always unattended

it ***** to be nobody
so a price we steeply pay
enmeshed, convoluted reality
to co-dependent toxicity

Crucifix
I've seen breath leave a body for the last time.
A miracle of a pill closing doors, never to be opened again.
A noose around my faith.
Russian roulette with my soul. With my name.
You think you understand, please don't let this be gods plan.
Not another wandering soul, not another soulless toll.
Not the price we paid not the crimes we made.
Not the guilt of joy. No survivors here.
Let me breath through my fear.

Thanksgiving.
That glorious day
of the year
when my family
gathered around the fowl
like the Waltons
and then acted
as if it had been stuffed
with ***.

Sometimes it's nice
to let your toes
sink into the mud
beneath you
Watch the dimly
lit sky above you
permeated by clouds
Just like your mind
clouded by deep
thoughts of
Wanderlust.

THE PEACE OF WILD THINGS**

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

What happened,
To the guy who always wore his smile,
To the guy who was positive for at least a little while,
To the guy who was my friend?

Where did he go?
Such sunshine can't fall away so suddenly,
It can't just fade away... can it?

He's a monster now,
Selfish,
Hostile,
Filled with rage.

And I'm the prey.

They say that love
is blind, and I agree.
Because I do not need to be blessed
with sight, to see that I am
blessed with you

they get everything handed to them
and i get everything ripped from me.
but that's how it goes, i guess.
they'll get the perfect job,
psh, more like sleeping with the boss.
i'll get the perfect job,
work my way to the top.
all blood, sweat, and tears,
breaking all of my fears.
those stories are the best right?
the one where the trillionaire
made herself, she couldn't
get a break, and then she decided
that she didn't need one,
and that instead of ******* her
way to the top,
she took it.
she didnt have
the best childhood,
in fact, she doesn't
talk to her family,
she lives in luxury.
something she's never
had before.
they may have everything handed to them,
but if its given, is it really theirs?
because doesn't that mean that whoever
gave it to them, has the power to take it away.
and i may get everything ripped from me,
but, one day, they will have everything
ripped from them,
and i shall finally be at peace.
