I was thinking love,
You were thinking leaving.
You were moving on
And I was still believing.

Life is ever changing
No matter how it starts;
Some of it is wonderful,
Some can break our hearts.
We start out like a storybook
Two souls that meld as one
Everything we choose to do
Becomes our special fun.

Going out and staying in
Are legendary loving things.
Today it’s easy to ignore
Tomorrow waiting in the wings.
So, I paid very little mind to
That you chose not to talk
And never quite got around to
Holding hands when we walk.

I was thinking love,
You were thinking leaving.
You were moving on
And I was still believing.

At first even in wintertime
My heart was warm as toast.
Sitting by the fireside snuggled
That was what liked most.
I was storing up memories
Of every single loving day.
You were figuring how you could
Quickly go your own way.

I was thinking love,
You were thinking leaving.
You were moving on
And I was still believing.

When I think of you and me
I think of a tree

Sometimes that tree is full
prosperous
beautiful
full of life
So full it reminds me of the stars
Where we sit on a blanket and count them
Where we think they are all ours

Sometimes that tree is empty
Each passing day
more leaves
fall to the ground
Until one day
all that is left is one
Saddened by what it has become

Sin
Still my body lays interred
Earth now cover
Silence now baits
Wasted breath upon
Goodbyes

Closed are my eyes to the world above
Yet all around I see
How this life I led
Made me bleed

Rain shall soak this frail soul
And the sickness cleaned
From a heart that couldn't love
Have pity on me
Until the sun sets

Then wipe away all sorrow felt
For a lost man lays deep within
And the wind blows
So harsh and cruel
Upon a wasted day

POETRY

Poetry, is not just
The rhyming of some words
It’s expression of a feeling
Which a heart shepherds

A rhapsody of heart and thought
Immersed in joyful bliss
Or dashed upon those rocks
Of agony’s abyss

Pictures made of words
Painted by a quill
Words that dance and twirl
At the penman’s will

The fusion of a thought
With the gift of soul
Emotions that are freed
Without any control

The sorrow of a heart ache
Set in rhythmic prose
The rhythm of true love
Which two hearts compose

Visions sketched in words
For everyone to see
Desires and their dreams
In hopes that they will be

The harmony of lyrics
A mind and heart have spawned
Set, in melodies of verse
To which, we all respond

At times I felt so lost
My sadness deep as sin
Overcome by emptiness
My need, was ravaged from within

It took almost, my whole life
To discover what was wrong
So much in life was offered me
But I just needed, to belong

Traveler
I dreamed about love
so deep I cried

So beautiful and unattainable
Yet still I tried

I tried to hold on
As long as I could

Yet my dreams are so often
Misunderstood...
Numbers flying,
Filling my head,
When digits aren't the answer,
But words instead,
When randomness is ordered,
And certainty is dead,
When structure is creative,
And poems left unsaid,
Because numbers are not lifeless,
They're just waiting to be read.

Star Gazer
We sat in the car singing our favourite song
We'd lost track of time and sang all day long.
Terrible yelling out of tune,
I can still remember every second of it,
The smile on your face,
The smile across mine.

"See, people they don't understand
No, girlfriends, they can't understand
Your grandsons, they won't understand
On top of this, I ain't ever gonna understand"
.

I guess life is like a game of golf,
you get a chance at The Strokes
and realise that some things end.
The strokes - Last Nite was me and my best friends favourite song. It was one of the happiest moment in my life, to have someone scream (i don't think its called singing ) with.

If she was still with me, I'm sure she would love The Strokes - Under the cover of darkness.....
