Yes I remember
that night
in midwinter,
the one
that we burned
on the hill,
and the moon
and the stars
and the
somersault sparks
and wanting
it all
to stay still,
and yes I remember
the warmth
of the embers
and daring
the future
with hope
at the
very same time
your fingers
touched mine
as softly as if
they were smoke.
I have a roof over my head
clothes covering my body
food in the kitchen cabinets
So, why does it feel like I'm dying everyday? ©
It's not about what you give me. It's how you treat me. Hopefully, one day you will understand that.
Being that none of you are interested in sobriety

And the rules for piety

Are too restricting

Too constricting

For you

And yours

And them others

Over in the corner

I am obliged

To consent to your conditions

Of placing the flower pots

On the inside of the door

In the hall

Instead of on the steps.

Thanks to ye.
When beauty grows too great to bear
How shall I ease me of its ache,
For beauty more than bitterness
Makes the heart break.

Now while I watch the dreaming sea
With isles like flowers against her breast,
Only one voice in all the world
Could give me rest.

Izzy
A shadowed boy with piercing blue eyes
The quiet girl with guarded brown eyes
When brown eyes meet blue,
the world stops, then jerks suddenly
with a torn gaze from frightened souls
The demons awake filling troubled minds with haunting thoughts

The only problem...
A love that would have grown so strong...
Was cast aside as a stray thought.

Cry
I came upon a child of God
Asked her where you going
She said my words were beautiful
But they were Leonard Cohen's

She passed a summer by me
Sad songs to scorch and sting
When the days grew older
She spread her angel wings

I watched for her as the white-tailed eagle
Looks down at the sea
Searched the heather, walked among the mountain flowers
Trod the holloways for hours
But she had flown from me

The raven and the hooded crow
Silent passed me by
Go, go, let her go
I heard the buzzard cry
You are a rose and I am a simple leaf
People adore you while I watch from the trees
You handle yourself with dignity and pride
While I'm easily swept by the wind's blowing tide

You are a rose the most confident of them all
And I am a leaf that can easily fall
You have this beauty that radiates love
That beauty you have I could sense from above

You are a rose that can only stay in the grass
And I am a leaf that wishes to be with you at last
But you are a rose and I am a simple leaf
People will adore you, while I can only watch from the trees
