Stolen, our lives vanished in the night.
Huddled below the hateful eyes,
ineffectual pleas of children's hushed cries.
We are the forsaken people,
abandoned in our time of need.
Victims at the hand of destiny.

Our lives, chosen by your name.
Our minds, lost without our king.
Ruler of the light, our Prince,
the God that calls us home.

They came in the night,
we sang our souls into fire.
A voice through the discord,
separating silence.
Seeking our forgiveness,
burn our names in your heart.
Cleanse our sins from the earth.
We leave as ashes; to the sky we fall.
Nothing more than dots and dashes on the wall.

Calm in silent mourn
Trees bow beneath the frail storm
Light sings sorrowful

Now we've been tossed and thrown and beaten in this storm we call life
But it's alright
It's alright
We're gonna be alright
This ship is ancient and she creaks and she moans but she's born of light
Yeah she's gonna carry us
Right up to the edge
Where we'll find ourselves as we've never been before just hold on tight
The waves are crashing but there's hope beneath this ribs and I savor the salt in my eyes
Cuz this storm rages on and on with razors for wind and violent laughter in the skies
But we're making it
Making it
We're gonna make it through
And that new day is gonna be so beautiful that I can't stand to see it now
And when it comes I'm gonna dive right off the bow
Into the great big ocean full of love and wonder
If only we suffer through the thunder and survive those tidal waves that threaten to bury us in those dark sands
But I know we're gonna be okay because I feel the strength of our scarred hands
Holding tight to these ropes that strain beneath our sails
Darling, things are gonna be okay
I've said it before and I swear I'll say it again
In the darkest of times trust in love because love never fails.
Written as more of a spoken word piece/non-traditional poem.

A rose if but by another name
Would still be Love's stinging pain
Yeah, that's what they say

Beauty fades, petals on the lake
But the thorns remain

And they might fall out
But you'll fall in
Yeah, you'll fall in again

My secrets become the Earth
As my bones become the burning dirt
And your lungs ceased to hurt
In death Love found bruised rebirth

We fell parallel to the sky
Our bodies awash in time
Gravity lost hold
The sun breaks over

My secrets sank in the bleeding ocean
Like my fingers sank in your skin
Now you can breath free again
In love Death found sweet emotion

We fell parallel to the sky
Our bodies awash in time
Gravity lost hold
The sun breaks

My secrets came to blistering light
Long after I left this frightful life
And you, Love, could not cry
In light Love and Death came alive

It's been said that ignorance is bliss
But I think that phrase took a swing and missed.
Cuz I look around and all the ignorance I see and hear
Seems to stem directly from fear.

Fear of knowledge, change, and what may come next
From both sides of the aisle, right and left

Mother help us we walk along in confusion
Pointing fingers, spewing hate filled abuse and
Forgetting to speak of love for fear of rejection
Father help us we ask your protection

There's more to learn if only we allow it
We should listen to more than just those who shout the loudest

Even jesters garner much attention
And are showered with affection
But their ideas are farcical and dilute
If one but tried they are simple to dispute

Die not with fear in your heart
Remember courage requires fear to start
To defeat our burgeoning ignorance
We must supplant our living indifference

And I knew what I was
When you called me disgrace
I was the sun exploding into space

And I was knew what I was
When the light broke through silence
Like that great hound through my fence

Drown out
Out
Out
The fear
Fear
Fear
Of day
Day
Day

So let's burn
And turn
Into ash
Like the skyline
You pine
But never ask

If I knew what I was
