spring has finally made her entrance
blooms unfurling with colour to show
we've waited for the delayed appearance*

pinks yellows and purples on stems dance
in the warming breezes of the North's trow
spring has finally made her entrance

tiny leaves on elm branches balance
gardens now blossoming by the row
we've waited for the delayed appearance

even paddocks are flush with green stance
along the river flats they do smarty glow
spring has finally made her entrance

eyes taking more than a passing glance
the landscape tied in life's sprouting bow
we've waited for the delayed appearance

somewhat late her arrivals enhance
she adds glistering hues in pretty throw
spring has finally made her entrance
*we've waited for the delayed appearance
Back in the twenty first century
The world was in chaos.
There was no World Gov.
Democracy was limited to certain “Nations”
As such territories were called.
(We were so territorial then).

Millions died of malnutrition
In places called “Asia”, “Africa” and elsewhere.
Factions fought for land, resources
And “Religious” beliefs
That I will describe to you later.

In those days people were persecuted
For their race, gender
And any way in which they differed from “the norm”.

Anyone who spoke up against injustice
And countless other wrongs
Was branded “Un-PC”
Humiliated
Before his (or her) peers.

Those were troubled times,
Back in those “frontier days”.
Be thankful we are now civilised:
United Human Race,
Worldwide Democracy,
People Loving,
Compassionate
For the Good of All.

Welcome to my history class.
Let us learn from our mistakes,
And never repeat them.

Paul Butters
This is for Paulo Gomes, my drinking pal, who remarks that the world is full of starving people and injustice. More a statement than a poem, perhaps, but hey......

I watched

What is night
                                                       Form
I felt I only have two hands

A million questions

Borders
And no clear border

Is it my territory?

To always know what is right

I felt I only have two hands
And that it was not enough
To make the sun
Shine forever

The only person
She's ever been unkind to,
Is herself.

She closed the door
on another year
that was never hers
from the start
She breathed a sigh
of relief
in the darkness of
her heart
For another year
is not for her
She no longer
has it in her
to pretend
all over again

a Loser
can become
a Winner
Living here in the world , where struggles never ceases.
Living here in a world, where Christ is always first.
For it was and is and will be him that brings me through.
For only he can rescue any of us, I am so very thankful.
For each of you that been put in my life for you all give me encouragement.
To keep persevering and go through all of these hardships.
To come out the other side of them a much stronger person.
I love you all with the unconditional love that comes from Christ.

I speak with a heart
Connectedness
I speak with a heart
I breathe with a heart

Its beating my heart
Its beating my heart

I see in my dreams
Connectedness
I feel in my dreams
I'm real in my dreams

Its beating my heart
Its beating my heart

All that's strange will go away
Our blood a different color
And even with my eyes
You can't see
In our difference
Will go away
Connectedness
Connectedness

I speak of the truth
Connectedness
And without the words
There is love

Its beating my heart
