Morrison Leary Dec 2014
Sitting there, on a porch, alone in my head.
A present of life is gifted, an icy chill.
Shooting through the spine,
hands down, by the side, massaging the warmth.
Artistic moisture falls upon the brow,
melting with my heart.
Doubt unravels, the simple truths,
the simple lies, awakening of my mind.
Sunshine makes a subtle appearance,
corrupting the mask, revealing the hide.
To start small, to end it all.
Wallowing in the madness,
darkness arrives.
Happiness misplaced,
tears completely dried,
trapped on the never-ending ride.

They wait, they hide, they prey.
Eating carrion,
vanishing in the setting sky.
These devilish carnivorous beasts,
soaring, circling quietly.
A smell from afar, piercing the senses.
A soulless hide, or partially alive.
Morality does not exist,
they devour all, their defining nature,
seeking the infirm,
a blackened mind.
Just there to watch you die.
Morrison Leary Nov 2014
A town filled with degenerate and clowns,
where stars shine bright and street lights are nowhere in sight.
Drunken buffoons, swarming the saloons,
stirring up chaos with their little spoons.
Lost actresses turning into brainless waitresses,
the common conversation turning into nothing more,
than the gossip of your ever fashionable *****.
Stay too long in this dystopian filled town
and you'll find yourself growing old and bored,
dying internally like a cancerous plague,
waiting for the zombies to rise.
Not aware that the zombies are here, alive and well,
roaming the streets, ever so disguised,
make eye contact and prepare to die.

The neighbors, they must assume,
slightly poke and ****.
Is there a rave going on, inside?
Too many light switches, dressing the walls.
A light show to the outsiders,
nosy onlookers, lurking in the shadow of night.
Pull the trousers down, give them a real show.
Two moons will shine,
a new home.
Please forgive me, I'm figuring out said design.

Love me?
        You shall not.
With my hands bounded behind my back,
I cannot swallow.
Forgive me, it's all hard to take in.
Not lovable?
Intended to thrive elsewhere, let it begin.
Whose reflection?
Glaring back through the mirror,
one's true-self revealed.
Fighting towards a goal.
What can you show?
A selfish lass full of lies?
Nothing left to say,
just ready to cry.
Goodnight Madame
Watch as my soul leaves the past.
Morrison Leary Nov 2014
This will be the death,
another forgotten poet.
No lamenting, just left to rust.
Words of the past,
cut a long story short,
for the remaining, the rest.
Attention spans diminish,
a dying language, I digress.
**** the conjunction, fade out with Pleiades
the rising sun.
