  Jun 2015 The Broken Poet

I thought that
I had already faced
My scariest moment

But I hadn't

I realized tonight that
My scariest moment
Wasn't when I thought
I was going to lose myself

No,
It was when I thought
That I was going to lose you

Was I too complex for you?
Tell me, what is it that I did wrong?
I know it must of been a lot,
For you to throw me away to rot.
You scream words of hatred,
while I cry tears of grief.
Grievence for the love
that we once shared.
It was a passionate,
beautiful love.
A love that along the way
became one sided.
I will always love you, my dear.
You could stab me
and I'd apologize
for bloodying up your knife.
I apologize everyday.
I wasn't enough.
I wish I had been.

Sometimes I still think of her.
The Broken Poet Jun 2015
What she has seen has caused her to flinch
What she has felt has caused the ocean to overflow
When someone reaches out to touch her
She's expecting to get beat so she turns the other way
You wonder what's wrong
She's not answering your question
Water is flowing from those Innocent eyes
Her parents are fighting again
She likes to blame herself and mostly God
She feels forsaken
She feels like she's dangling off a cliff
While everyone watches, a cold beer in hand
You try and shake her
Rookie mistake
She sees her dad getting hit
Yes, 40% of men are stuck in abusive relationships
But you woudn't know this
If she were to tell you, you would just laugh
As well as the others
They say he's a man tell him to grow some *****
But he was raised to never hit anyone, period
He was taught that Jesus bore more
So he wanted to out do him.

grateful to the men, women, and families who sacrifice so much to make other's lives so much better. Thank you!

I lie on the bed of my Chevy
A million little bugs crawling all over me
I think about your soft kisses grazing my body
The wind blows my hair into a dance
I think about us dancing until the crack of dawn
I listen to the crickets chirping
Humming their own little tune
I think about your lips whispering into mine promising forever
I stare at the moon
I think how obviously made you were for me
Something gravitated me towards you
Much like earth and the moon
I listen to the rustling of the leaves
I think about that time you pushed me up against the wall
Pulled me by hair
And kissed me fiercely
Igniting something deeply within
I lie on the bed of my Chevy
Wondering what went wrong.
