I raise my hands to God and not take your name.....
THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.
You're in my prayers like
AMEN.

Grief

Salmabanu Hatim
Grief is a tide,
It ebbs and floods,
It never ends,
A matter of heart and soul.
So carry it well,
Balance it,
Hug it.
Let it be a salty tear on your cheek,
A tiny memory in some corner of your heart.
Have Faith,
Grieve it out,
Swallow your anger,
Have no fear,
If possible laugh it away,
Make it your companion,
Then find strength,
To make a path through your grief,
Move forward.

I was tired of the routine,
In fact exhausted,
"Dinner is ready."
No response,
"DINNER IS READY".
Coming!
No one at the table.
The T.V. is on full blast,
There is an interesting match,
Somebody is on the mobile,
Kids on the PlayStation,
My pretty daughter on the internet with her boyfriend.
So I disconnected the WIFI,
Unplugged the T.V.,
Hid the mobiles and playstation.
Everybody was at the table,
Eating, talking and laughing as a family.
From then on Rule Number One:
No T.V., mobile, computer or PlayStation during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I have my family with me.

If you love me,
love me as I am,
With my goodness and vices.
If you desire to change me,
then love a new me,
Then that is not love,
It is a transaction,
In love there is no deal.

Nomad

I was a nomad,
Searching for better pastures,
From one tender heart to another,
At last I found the oasis,
In my lover's heart,
I was home.

Everything in my life
Falling apart
And
Simultaneously
everything in my life
pulling itself together
The truth is
life breaks everyone
life breaks everything
Nevertheless
I choose positive thoughts
I choose adaptability
I choose compassion
I choose gratitude
I choose love
I choose humility
I choose courage
I choose to keep moving forward
I choose to create a beautiful life
within the ugliness of it all
I choose to reach inside myself
and ignite a fire that will burn
forevermore
And at the end of it all
I know I will emerge victorious
within those broken places

She Writes
There is too much regret
In unspoken words
The quiet thoughts
Whispered only to the moon

There is too much longing
In wishful thinking
Daydreams
Can quickly become a nightmare

There are too many tears
Spilled onto pillows
Over suffering and longing
From words unsaid

Do You Love Me?
 Sep 2018 Mona
Rumi
A lover asked his beloved,
Do you love yourself more
than you love me?

The beloved replied,
I have died to myself
and I live for you.

I’ve disappeared from myself
and my attributes.
I am present only for you.

I have forgotten all my learning,
but from knowing you
I have become a scholar.

I have lost all my strength,
but from your power
I am able.

If I love myself
I love you.
If I love you
I love myself.

Life isn't always
What they say it is.

Childhoods aren't always the best
Adulthood isn't always so hard

Depression isn't always just a phase
Happiness doesn't last forever

Heartbreak isn't always something you can get over
Love isn't everlasting.

Life isn't always good
Not for everyone.

Teacups

People
Are like
Teacups

Some are pretty
Some are plain

Some have a saucer
Some don't

Some carry warmth within them
Some turn cold in a blink

Some are the favorites
That we see everyday

But some are lost in the dark
Without their existence being known

But in the end,
They're just teacups
