Gaye
I stand there, every day, nose to the cold iron grills,
Eyes to the sky, dark and cloudy, desperate to rain,
Feet kissing the earth, mad roots of hibiscus plants,
Clasping my hands to catch some wind and put-
It all inside my bag, time has come to gather my things
And leave. Live the moment with me, grow with me.

A liile

Open

for me...
I enjoy
the child
smiles
child just
smiles
too me
i see the god
again again
in my heart
in my mind
Just for smiles

The Lunchtime Poet
When I sit down
At the table
I get excited
To read your label

Peeling back
Your foil cover
A small square of joy
I discover

Strawberry or grape
Jelly or jam
I don't really
Give a ****

I use a few
On my toast
That's the way
I like it most

I think I'm hooked
Don't try and knock it
I put a couple
In my pocket

When no one is looking
Into my pocket I reach
Slowly I pull one out
Man I hope it's peach

Always thinking about it
That sticky substance I crave
Won't someone help me
I'm becoming it's slave

In the fall
It's homemade preserve
On a Ritz *******
I like to serve

I can't stop
No matter how I try
I'll be a slave to the jelly
Till the day I die

Can you help me find a remedy for this swollen heart?
She says it's just a side effect of all the alcohol.
"If you let me have my way, I swear I'd tear you apart."
She says I'm getting my aching organs mixed up,
and it's the liver that's in need of a detox.
****'s all out of context.
I told her to forget it.

"One of these mornings will be the loudest you'll hear,"
but my head's still ringing from the echo of ten years spent ignoring alarm clocks.
I can see the too-bright light at the end of the tunnel,
but I'm getting off at the next stop,
and I can keep hopping these cars ad infinitum.

"A long time ago, we used to be friends,"
but I've broken half-a-hundred promises since then,
and I'm in no condition to up and replant these seeds of doubt that my family tree dropped nearly three decades ago.

This ain't the song to end it on.
And these aren't the words either of us ever wanted to have to regret not saying,
but why can't you just say what you mean?

"We met one day in wet cement,"
and our swollen hearts have been slowly hardening ever since.
It's about a break-up, sort of.

Songs (and bands) listed in the order that they're quoted:
Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis (Brand New)
The Story I Heard (Blind Pilot)
We Used To Be Friends (The Dandy Warhols (really?))
Wet Cement (The Morning Benders)

What if
          I
                                                  Fall
In
              Love
With
      A
       Poet?
What if he mesmerises me
       With his lines?
What if
        His words touch me
        And kiss
           Through my skin?
     What if i search for
Him
Everyday
And
      Travel through
              His words
    And meet him
                  Somewhere
       And
We
       Become bare
          And he caresses
Me
          With every
      Stanza
And
       Here
           I am
                Again
Searching
           For him,
    Wanting
Him
        With
                 All
                      Desire
Waiting
             For
                 His
                   Next
                      Poem
                         To
                            Take
                              Me
                          To
                       His
                   World
                Where
             We
          Will
        Lay
      Bare
   What if
               I
                  Fall in love
                      With
                  A
                      Poet?

There was a legend
Unknown to mankind
It has been kept secret
From the minds of ordinary.

It was about the Sun and the Moon
And about a little boy who knew.

The Moon always said to him
Whenever the darkness veils
'Don't worry, in darkness I'll light your path.'
But when the Sun rose, the Moon flee.
It was said until then
That the Moon was a she
And the Sun was a he.

Every single day
Until eternity
The Sun would be chasing his fate.
He was convinced
That the Moon is his soulmate
And he should ask the Moon for a date.

The little boy knew their story
And he knew more than he should
About the God's infinite decree.

The Moon, however
Was convinced that
The Sun is not her soulmate
She was told that if he succeeded in his pursue
The world would be ripped.

In pain, the little boy watched their parade
Days and nights, time seemed to fade.

What's so hard for them to go on one date
Even though the skies are the ones at stake?
idk?

She sits from where
the rainbow arches into the river.

As I eye her fishing net
she reads the question in my mind.

I'm waiting for three thirty
when tides begin to fall
but the shrimps can't go back.

When the bank begins to bare
she glides into the waves
till the water cools her *******.

I walk away knowing
she would bob up to the hour
the moon is upon her face
and she has made another morrow
from the river.
