It's scary,
How in a moment,
I can be fine,
Staring into space,
Then suddenly,
Feel so much pain,
*So much hurt.
And sometimes you just feel tears fighting to come out,
From unknown sources.

Stars fall from the sky
Like tears from the Angels
Who weep in the Heavens
And pray Love will save us.
Electric thought light,
Etheric vapors inflame us;
Casting truth on our minds
To reveal what enslaves us.
Holdfast through the night,
Our humility tames us.

In ode to all who succumb
through wayward passages
lined of scribble notes
dripping ink’s savagery,
staining cursive patterns
in Sylvia-like depressions

Jarred bells ring
down lost tunnels
around each dark corner…clang
from steeples we chase
and beds we lie
draped in sadness
and shapes of
poetic happenstance

Tear drop vinaigrette
spiced of leftover lifetimes
drizzled on leafy desperation
bids a tired farewell
before time collects
*the deserved rewards

Willingly bound by our interlaced fingers,
we left the masquerade early.

We admitted that pretending to be someone else was exhausting,
and getting to know facades of fictitious people was a grotesque waste of time.

The desire to be understood far outweighed the fear of judgement.
Somewhere, in a world all our own, we shed our disguises.

Naked and vulnerable we shared the things we thought were repulsive,
and discovered that once trusted with someone else they could become beautiful.
Rose petals devoured

   of inky promises

blush off garden passages

  of amaranthine radiance,

written words decayed

  on  bruised vines

   of intertwining madness,

as poetry climbed the

    walls of befallen sunlight

I mistook
the sea for
the sky while
it slumbered
mid the garden
where I was
dreaming
