I WARNED you
YES I warned you of the horror that was to come
But you didn't listen and the invasion has begun
From cracks and crevices in the ground
From dark caverns in the hills
ESIOTROT emerged to devour and to ****

Granny woke this morning
Cried out in great despair
Her carefully tended rose beds
GONE
No longer there

They ate the leaves
The bushes and trees
And even devoured a hive of bees
Nothing could survive

They swallowed frogs
Then the cats and dogs
Took piglets from the stye
Gathered by the bakery
Devoured all the apple pies

Why did you not listen, take no note
When I warned of things to come
You said you knew best
I was being a pest
When I said ESIOTROT would come

I looked outside, to my surprise
The tyres from my car had gone
For nothing is safe
No hiding place
When the invaders come

Now if you don't believe in ESIOTROT
Then take a mirror in your hand
ESIOTROT will be revealed
When you turn the word around
Relating the incompatible
Reconciling irreconcilable
Forgetting the indelible
Walking the liquid ground.

Turning the dark on at noon
Being an octopus in the body of a racoon
Melting the stone, stoning the melted
No utterance commented.

How does it feel to be unreal?
You may not like me when I disagree
But teach me how to like me
While I'm

Relating the incompatible
Reconciling irreconcilable
Forgetting the indelible
Walking the liquid ground.

Turning the dark on at noon
Being an octopus in the body of a racoon
Melting the stone, stoning the melted

I'll romance the unloveable
Place my shoulder under the unbearable
The pose we take in an argument
Sustainable measurement.
I had a heart
that was concrete like sidewalk
you had a voice like chalk

I swore I was going to
memorize your laugh
try to photograph
the way it would add color
to the grey gaps
where not even weeds would
dare to grow

it is too bad
chalk succumbs so easily
to rain.
Imagining was inspired by poetry class on Decmber 1, 2014 when my professor told the class that break ups hurt sometimes because the people involved focus on what they were going to do together rather than what they actually did do together and I thought that was so true. I've played around with this poem a bit over the past month, but I think I like it how it is now.
Sentient twas breeze on nights chilled whispers,
In the magic of moon and darkness,
A slip of silver cast her wing tips,

I watched told by those, whom lay with stars,
Athena billows near perching oak and tree,
Harbinger of spring hungry yet not starved,

Deceive thee, ah tis bane silent thoughts to hear,
Into the darkness of souls inspiration dances near,
Teach I shall be done by voice fire and silent air,

Listening to subtleties, I carry the hidden,
Many see my repose,
Malevolent mine eyes I can tear,

Standing near thy window I Athena
── Am owl peering near

ahmo
I'll always have this feeling on my shoulder
and this stench on my breath.
What you never knew
was just how bad it would get.

All I wanted was reciprocation-
eyes that actually cared,
hands that actually struggled,
and a laugh that rang genuine.

Something is just missing.
Always has.
Maybe my affinity to anything
was violently torn from me.
Or maybe it's just my fault.
Resolution is my delusion
Nothing gets done
Distance comes the warning
Minutes turn to none

We wish to the event
Time takes it's course
Calculating all the pressure
All forsaken remorse
Failure of a resolution
