Stardust drips
in Southern Cross directions
lost at sea
floundering in the nothingness
counting seagulls
and island torches
branding the sky
with delirious connections
traveling beyond the speed,
22 knots to nowhere
and sinking fast

SOS carved
in summer clouds
threatening distractions
floating silently in our heads
as we bail out,
tossing salt water worries
overboard as
barnacle beliefs wait
beneath the surface
of our dreams

A lone timber,
nails protruding,
rotting slowly
is held for dear life
as tridents and trishulas
flail in withered hands
breaking seas,
angry waves bend
dissipating into
misted blankets as
foghorn signals
bellow in needled warnings
like a skipping album
drowning in its
own repetition

Drip
Drip
Drip
Is all you hear
In the dark silence
Of the night

You can feel their hot breath
Dancing on the back of your neck
And you turn and look behind you
To see nothing

You can smell the blood on their teeth
From their last ****
But your nose
Leads you no where

You reach out into the blackness
And feel nothing
But smoke and mirrors

You don't know where they are
What they are
Who they seem to be
Why they're after you
Or when they're coming to feast

All you can do
Is *wait

And wait
And wait
Until the beasts **strike
A little horror poem for you all

Or more like a metaphorical piece that is hard to crack

Stay back
Don't get to close
The quietest of us
Fear the most

We fear
And fight our demons
While life passes by
But no one can hear a sound
No one sees enough to ask why

The prison of silence can be torture
Being here all alone
But for some of us it's a blessing
To not have someone asking if we're home

For me it's best to be kept away
So those around me don't hurt
For my heart is constructed of ice
But my mind is built of fire
Conflicting within me
Making my need for isolation more dire

Here in my kingdom of ice and fire
I am the queen
Ruling however I please
With a civil war on the horizon
Yet floating through time with ease

So you wonder why people ignore us
Well for some know all to well
That the quietest of us can be the most dangerous
The wild cards that can't be helped

But don't worry
Not all of us strike poison
So if you dare go greet them
Make sure to bring your knives
I worry this one is all over the place

And as night descends…
eclipsing faintly glowing heavens,
fading salmon swirls
into indigo memories,
sprinkling diamond-like clusters
in constellation patterns,
inviting a chrysanthemum moon
to bloom amid comets pirouetting
upon a milky way dance floor…
I dream of you, for you are
the brightest star ever to grace
*the evening sky of my heart
Good night beautiful

I've fallen hopelessly in love with self destruction.
Every warning I hear is a cheer.
Send my regards to redemption
Cause my destiny has been written on a block of cement
Tossed into the bluest depths
I'll greet rock bottom with a kiss

Nowadays I know
That I still exist
Even when you don't say goodnight.

I often lie awake at night
To avoid seeing you in my dreams
Only to think about you constantly
Missing you
Is only half
Of the void I feel

Never-ending

I was having a dream…

you were lying next to me
soundly asleep
in our soft bed,
satin sheets
and goose down pillows
as the sun began to rise
painting our room in shades
of apricot and tangerine

I was holding you
gently in my arms,
feeling your heart beat,
mesmerized by rhythmic breaths,
gazing upon your enchanting face
as dawn’s blushing glow
illumined your beauty,
falling in love all over again

When you slowly woke,
opening those maple sugar eyes,
finding me watching you
and smiled the most
beautiful smile I had ever seen
as I whispered
“Good morning beautiful”

And I didn’t want it to end
but it did as I awoke,

sensing the morning sunshine
through closed eyelids
and upon opening them
found you staring at me
with that beautiful smile
and when you whispered
“Good morning handsome”

I knew right then and there
my dream would be never-ending
Good morning beautiful
