I wake up in the middle of the night
With the sound of your laugh
so loud and contagious
And I can’t help but grin
Still with my eyes closed
And I press them tight
As to hug it to myself
As to keep it inside of me
Looping in my mind
Like the sweetest melody
I fight so hard
To stay where I am
To stay asleep
Just a little bit longer
Because I realize
I only get to hear that laugh
While I’m still dreaming

there are stars
oh, twinkling stars in her eyes
gust of wind in her hair
and her laugh,
not just hers, but mine too,
since i brought it out
with some stupid joke,
her laugh washes over me
and makes me lose my breath
- the gentlest tsunami wave

you look at me while my face is turned away
or at least that’s what my friends say

you watch me when I laugh till I cry
it’s as if you see beauty in me with those eyes

you smile as you watch me dance to sounds
as if I’m the one you finally found

you even laugh at my jokes
it gives my heart a love poke

we talked with love in our face, eyes, and even mind
when will we admit we can’t keep it behind

all of me wants you
i know you want me too
I’m falling in love with you

If ever you're down
In a dark, dark place
And ready to drown
To leave the Earth's face

Just, please, always remember
Somebody loves you
They'll spark your damp ember
Because they'll always love you

You are alive
You'll breakthrough
And you can thrive
Because
They love you.

Even when you think it isn't possible, someone loves you. We'll all miss you if you go. So please, can you stay for us?

you don't need a boy who will call you beautiful
you need a man who will call you intelligent
a man who will tell your laugh is contagious
that you made him smile
that you have something to offer
she is outspoken and bold
bold like the sun
bolder than an army of boulders
falling from a hillside
she is an avalanche
when there is nowhere left to run
she is despised by some
and others wish to fill her
with some old fashioned whisky
i am sanctified by her ways
and returned to my former glory
as this poem has tasted far better days
she is a morning glory
her eyes are like the petals of a flower
she is the Wordsworth of the decade
a wordsmith dancing in her own decay

i am essentially a target
a lost projectile in the arrow's path
she has coaxed me back to sanity
with her sardonic gestures
and her sarcastic use of wit
i am a nitwit she said
so i laugh and pick the flowers from her hair
slowly and soporifically
i am seaweed adrift in her bonnet
sandpaper scattered along the shoreline
remove the blind spectacles
and eat the lines i’ve written
a poem is just a candle anyway
to spray the eyes of infinity with lightning
mars is retrograde regardless
so i’ll just sit here and pretend
that i’m not too much of a target for her beauty
