Overworked and underpaid
To help the family survive
To please you
I just can't

Two jobs, school and dance
Little sleep and lacking comfort
So much to do to help
I struggle

No time for me to relax
Working,  revising,  practicing
For what?
A better future for all

I'm stressed out
And struggling
With life
With everything

Failing school
Failng my family
Failing at dancing
It's all falling apart

The stress I'm under
It's effecting me
You
All those I know

I can't keep it in
I will just burst
Leaving you all behind
          *GOODBYE
Mary-Elizabeth Mar 2014
A bond so great it never breaks us,
Sisters united through blood,
So far apart,
But so close we stand.

My rock, My help,
My everything.
The bridge between me and the real world.
My life's imaginary without yours

The bonds of sisterhood stand tall and strong.
A bond of friendship, love and laughter
Great memories shared through bonds unbreakable
Will stay with us for life,
For death,
And time immemorial.

For my greatest friend,
My sister,
My life!
A note for my greatest friend.... my sister :) thank you **

You did this.
The blade used, tore me
Ripping my heart from the place it belongs,
Draining the blood from my body.
A knife, cuts
A knife, kills.

Please,
Don't do this
Not again!

The lives we lead
The lies we tell...
A glimpse to the real us?

"I went here,
I did this,"
we all know the truth
It's all lies

I see it true
I see it know
Everybody lies.

Behind each word we speak,
Smile we share,
A glance encountered
Any true?

This is who we are
You, Me, Them
you may find this wierd
But this is the truth

The lie behind your smile,
I can see it.
The lie in every word you say,
I can see it too.

No lie unseen,
Unheared,
Unguessed
because i know the real you!
Just random

I moved far away
To try and better myself
But what is the point?
I just realised wverything happens for a reason and I made these mistakes to learn from them

Yesterday
Is history
It's in the past
Forget it

Tomorrow
Is a mystery
It's in the future
Wait for it

Today*
Is a gift
It's the here and now
Treasure every moment
Mary-Elizabeth May 2015
Who can I really trust?
Well I thought it was you but
No

Just like her
you tell the my story
My secrets
My feelings

Manipulative
Two-faced
It's a shame you hold the title
Father

Twisting every single word
I spill my heart out
She knows
What I tell you in confidence

I'm unaware if it's
You or her that stirs
this hatred so much

Mother and father
Divorced but will always be
Partners when it comes the the
Spilling of My secrets
True and to the point!!

A sigh of relief,
As I watch you walk through the door,
Knowing that the day will be great,
Me and you
You and me, us!

Friends walking side by side,
Laughing
Talking
Being us. Two friends just you and me.

A frienship strong,
You never fail to amaze me.
A frienship that will last so long,
Together we should be.

Is it really just a frienship,
I just wish it wasn't
Why can't we be more than this
Together, us, forever?!
Just for fun whilsts on my break
Please enjoy :) x

As I Live Each Day
May I Make A Difference
And Touch One Heart. . .
Each Day It Is My Goal
To Bring Smiles And Laughter
Into A Soul!
Love,  Peace And Happiness
To All!
I was touched by the purity of this poem so wanted to share it.
Mary-Elizabeth Apr 2014
I'd hold you in my arms and speak
The soothing word you once spoke
When I was lost and all alone
With no where to go.
No home no love

Do you remember?
I believe you can,
You're a star and
A unique type of  girl

How perfect it sounded.
You were my friend
My help and inspiration
When you need me I am yours

I will always care
The way that you did
You helped me
Now let me help you

If my problems
Are your problems
Then your problems
Are my problems

I will stand by you
For you're a star
My one true friend
My inspiration
Sat listening to music... finding inspiration

One year sadly ends
A new one set to follow.
What will happen next?

The breeze
The sound
Makes the night so real
The two before the bells

A ring signifies a new beginning
The ending of the past
The dress shows all the dreams
All those dreams, come true

A venue to show
Family and friends
what you're all about
The joining of young souls

That bench
It still stands
Waiting for you
The place where you met

The limp and lonely boy
Finally got his girl
The lively and loveable girl
He stayed

He stood by her
He helped her
He stared at the girl he loved
Because he stayed
Just an idea from my first poem that tended :) please enjoy x

One star
One stage
One dance
One day

A star like you
Born to perform
To crowds
Hundreds and thousands

Walk on the stage
Take the position
Wait for the beat to kick in
Then strike.

You perform your heart out
You are the star
Leap, turn, jump
Perfectly to the music

We believe in you.
Everyone is watching you
Don't be scared
Remember,
you are the star

A perfect performance
Ended with applause
We are all so proud
You did the best ever

You're not just any star
You're the brightest star on stage
Embrace the love
A moment later it's gone

The spark and excitement
It only lasts a moment
For you it's greater
You know the truth

you  are  *a star
Just random. Enjoy :)

The day I met you
I felt complete
The day I met you
I knew

I knew we were friends
Like I knew you before
I'd seen you before
But when

Going over my life time
And time again
I came to realise
It was just a thought...
destiny

Were we meant to meet
Be friends
And be together
A life of memories shared.

All the times we never spoke
Broke my heart to shreds
Now I know it made us stronger
It was just our destiny

We've know each other long enough
We know each other too well
Was is meant to be this way
Well yes
It was our destiny
Just random :)

The comments you make,
The laughter and sniggering
Drive me so insane!
When people get you down fight back. Stand up for yourself... don't go crazy with worry, I promise you will pull though
Mary-Elizabeth Apr 2014
Sorry
I try to help
I'm a hindrance
It's never right

My tears are nothing
You laugh at me
I want to help
I'm just no good

It all means something
What you say it hurts
Ruins me piece by piece
A fragment of broken glass

When will you see?
What you do
It kills me
It breaks my heart

You're mysterious
An act or gift
You're my conscience
I love you.

reverse

Maybe I don't cry,
But it hurts.
Maybe I won't say,
But I feel.
Maybe I don't show,
But I care.
If you have any ideas for a title feel free to message me :)

A limp and lonely boy,
A lively loveable girl,
One bench,
One day.

A bench where strangers meet,
They glance,
They look,
They stare.

A simple stare,
But more than that,
A new beginning,
Of an old ending.

Would it be love,
Or friendship,
Or nothing,
Only days would tell.

As everyday they sat,
They stared, but neither said a thing,
This then changed one day,
When the girl was not there.

The boy just stared,
At the place she should be,
Waiting for her to arrive,
She never did.

Three weeks later,
She finally turns up,
He says "where have you been,
I was worried about you"

He sits closer,
She goes to back away,
He holds her,
Then noticing the bruises and cuts.

One cut still bleeding,
Had she run,
He looked,
He stared.

He stayed!
Kept this poem private for a long time as I couldn't find an ending I liked... finally finished it.

Title- if anyone has an idea for a title pkwase message me the suggestions

We dance* for laughter,
We dance for tears,
We dance for madness,
We dance for fears,
We dance for hope,
We dance for screams,

We are the dancers,
We create the dreams!

What's between us...
Is love
What's between us...
Is sacred
What's between us...
So many things
Life
Death
The sun
The moon
memories
Both good and bad
What's between us
Is the secret to the stars and space
We hold the meaning of
**life and death itself

you
I follow
In every direction
The rush of the wind
That breeze

A mountain
A river
A stream
I walk to find you

You are the rock
A pillar from the earth
The gift upon which I grow
You.

I believe in you.
For you are my reason for life.
I love you
Just a quick one. Try reading it backwards.  Let me know what you think of the poem :)

You
It's you
Your smile
Your laugh
Your strength
Your kindness

You gave me
Happiness
A chance
Hope
Love

It's you
Who gives me
Everything I wish for
You're my shining light

You're my glimmer of hope
That love still exists out in the world

For now I admit it
Its the truth
I love you
