Clovers.

In tall pines and
night storms
when we were
close
to over

& hiking with
my long hair
down
in frantic search
of clovers

in our dancing,
& tambourines,
your whiskey drinking
sober -

You live as a
memory
     in
perpetual
October.
when all i see is my darkness
pitch black and uninviting,
you see shining stars,
and moon-lit clouds with
silver linings.
ever since i found you, a little light is breaking through

The forces of attraction
can only be explained in
this chemical disarray of
hormonal derangement.

Attracted to intellect,
turned on by clever words;
it's only natural, every now and then,
*attraction tends to burn.
When someone asked me what I was attracted to in a person, I replied with something along these lines.

Her eyes told me the story
of a girl that had no home
sleeping under midnight stars
a gypsy she shall roam

She bathes in warm pond water
her skin as soft as silk
her laughter is contagious
her smile as white as milk

This boy could love that gypsy girl
and make her world complete
I think she would fall in love with me
if only we could meet

either turns to ash
or turns to gold
we must learn
when to hold on
and when to let go
