Rebel Heart
I may seem dangerous
Strong and brave
But I assure you
I break just as easily
As the rest of us
...

And I'll let you in on a secret

I'm already shattered

Far beyond repair
...
I have been this whole time.

the band plays soft slow elegance
a sax low soothes
a siren sings
away into those hearts right
**** into your's and her
arteries
making you hold her closer
fluttering
coooooo low does that sax player smooth
and she becomes
your appendage
connected now
slow you grind sway around
the dance floor like on a sidewalk in front of everyone
it don't matter now
just the swaying feel the blood rush the harmonies
got jazz in your
bodies
sway

to all the sun beams
beckoned called
along the farther wall
where the rainbow
days usually display

I love you
glow on me
for the rest of days
join the colored rainbow glowing
red green yellow colors unnamed
a bright display

can I count days in them
count a magenta as one
vermillion as two
and what would be three
silly
how I weigh

these light fantastics and try to communicate
with them
Brilliant is all I  know
how they dance on
the western wall
glimmer

better than
television
I saw my neighbor standing in disbelief.
He seemed to be in shock
He stared at the ruins of his home
as the waters of Harvey  receded from his land.
He had his wife, but that was all.
They had nothing to look forward to now but fighting mud and mold.
“ I came into this life with nothing and I leave it with nothing.”
He muttered this more to himself than to me.
“I will help you.” I said. “We will help each other.”
Then he seemed to recall that he was a Texan;
Born and raised.
and we  Texans do not allow ourselves to become discouraged
by a little adversity.
“We will rebuild.” he told his wife. “Don’t you worry.”
Then, like Greek Sisyphus with his shoulder against the stone,
He began to pick and sort through the wreckage of his time.
Hurricane Harvey destroys our homes but not our spirit

Star BG
Rains, rains they come
beating on ground
to let it in.
Flying through air
to reach a place
where joining with others
is inevitable.

They come from
greying cloud
that once were white.
They drift with wind
as if each carry a rainbow
waiting to connect to hillsides
so it may shine.

Raindrops come like little tokens
paving the way
to aid flowers ready to drink,
and umbrellas ready to open.

They come in droves
as if little herds
trying to reach a mating place
inside calm waters.

Rains, oh Rains,
a construct of Nature perhaps,
but think again.
With technology
its hard to tell.

Hard, as the Cabal
have their plans,
and are ruthless
with thunderous power
that must be stopped.
Stopped so our own
rainbows in heart can shine.
