you make me feel whole
reborn
purified
young

I fear the day I'll stop loving you
just thoughts. I love you and I never want to hurt you, and that scares me so much
When the daylight dims its shiny face,
among the sky's exuberant show;
Our hearts are mellowed by the mist,
and once again the moonlight glows.

In the evening when the whispering trees,
tell poignant stories of a summer's love;
We hear their mournful voices crying,
to reach heaven's starlight up above.

The night grows soft in perfumed air,
of sweet jasmine, wisteria, and violets;
The canopy on high becomes a rainbow,
of varied hues from a sumptuous sunset.

A hush soon envelops this welcome scene,
while hearts embrace its wonder and romance;
The porch-swing sways as subtle tunes,
caress us with the joy of Nature's dance.
Once upon a Springtime's glowing rays,
of sunlight far beyond our happy gaze;
The seeds of flowers sown into earth,
with pretty petals shown upon their birth.

We laughed the shining afternoons away,
while sipping sweet and frosty lemonade;
Beneath a vast umbrella of turquoise skies,
I felt that love was surely beautiful and wise.

A poem from your heart was gently spoken,
this aching heart of mine no longer broken;
Your tenderness joined with a hand in mine,
while showers of daffodils appeared sublime.

Once upon a Spring I felt your touch,
the breezes in the air were soft and lush;
That season stays forever in my mind,
as memories ring out from church bells' chimes.
Inspired by a song called "Once Upon a Summertime" written in French by Eddie Marnay with the English translation done by Johnny Mercer. This romantic tune is sung exquisitely by Barbra Streisand on her French Album, Je M'appelle Barbra, from the early 60's. It has always been one of my favorites !
Butterflies murmuring
A gentle melody
With every footstep
That I place on the damp
Leafy ground.

With every freeing step
That I eagerly take,
As I reach further into the belly
Of the enchanting forest,
I feel more, and more,
Found.

Free, from reality's confinement;
At home, within solitude's
Inviting embrace...

At one, with nature --
My heart's, and my soul's,
Happy place.

Fine delicate wings
Of Organza,
Chiffon,
Satin and Lace,

Flowing ever so gently -
A heavenly dance
Portraying such elegance
And grace.

Velvet hues
Of Crimson,
Majenta,
Turquoise,
And Teal,

Breathtakingly exquisite,
Out of this world--
Ethereal.

Dainty,
Magically enchanting--
Incredibly surreal.

An amazing spectacle
Of extraordinary--
A wondrous delight;
Uniquely rare
And very, very, real.

~Butterfly Wings.

Winter's breath upon the flowers
Falling temps by the hour
Breathe in the icy air
Expelling such despair

Oh mighty winter
You do declare
That there is no power
to compare

But it is time for you
to be on your way
Don't you have a winter to attend
Half a world away
I found a lingering thought
you left behind . . .
      dried blood , sinews and
a bottle of unkempt time .

Though they tried to stamp you out . . . Atomic has an edge when it comes to hot fallout .

They may have pound and beat the desk . . . but they take their place with all the rest .

Still you live beyond the glass and stone . . . everytime someone sings one of your songs .

The rose wood rose up in flames . The steel wires popped from the strain .

And all in silence watched refrained . . . as another star dimned and left us pained .
