Dancing round the fire pit
As you cut and burn your hair
Casting stars and spirits a flame
With your amber coloured braid
Thicken the air with talk
Bash rocks and sharpen spears
Crossed legs under a withered night sky
A game of meteorites
Fireflies and mosquito bites
The shine of rain
Your smile coarse in my veins
A cycle of rain and nitrogen
And everything looks a lot like mud
But that's where the stuff grows you know
Where the ancients have fallen
Cause here's a place too sow seeds you see
To spread your wings and fall over and over again
Rest easy
Crash your waves
Flood the sky
Sink into the earth
As here's a place made for no mortal
That's why the sun and stars came to play
Locked by the fingers, but something still runs free.
Stirring up seeds in a place that can't be seen.

Above us the sea sizzles, the sky burns at our feet. I'll hear her voice for centuries.
Taste her lips in every fool I kiss. Breathing malaria into my hips.

For what no man can be she is, sees all, feels all and brushes it under your feet.
Her rust fingers find the zing of metals; from first to fourth mirrors burst, life calcifies.

There's still sand under my toenails, salt crystals in my eyes. Marooned where too much lives and in the surf I'll lie.

here’s the damnedest thing about “hopeless romantics”:

they’ll splinter their own bones into kindling
to build the fire that warms you,
as if putting a match to their insides
might cauterize the wounds
left behind by the greedy lovers and too-rough hands
that set their hearts to bleeding in the first place

you see, the poets spared no pains when they dubbed
the especially romantic “the hopeless

they are hopelessly betrothed to the warfare,
the burning insanity
of a soul madly in love with love—
the way the heart rages against the brain.
Problem with today's love is,
there are two souls involved
[When there is only space for one]
Me and her together
Forever kissing
Passionately
Together loving
Each other
Every day
Our hearts entwined
In utter love
I could never find
A better love
Other than her.
