Do
Shawn Nov 2016
Do
Drugs,
They fill me with the warmth of my mother,
They fill the void of my father,
And leave me wanting more like lovers,
Pick me up when I'm down like friends,
And like my mother, father, lovers, and friends it's only around while I have money,
This may be a series too. Not to serious though.

E Pluribus, Nihil

I know I'm one of those kids,
Never sick but always blows his nose kids,
Mad city never been good kids,

"All my gold is green kids,
Blue and red hues are all I've seen hold kids,
But not a Glock shot with 9 kids,

Always go to school kids,
Be good, don't ever play the fool kids,"
Old heads, never get through kids,

Huston has a problem kids,
But the man on the moon will be home soon kids,
Embrace the martian; Saint Pablo got to kids,
Every stanza is a reference to a poem or a song/ artist.

Scream (Face)
Shawn Nov 2016
Scream, I want you to scream,
Rag doll-- tearing at the seams,

The thread that's threatening to unravel,
The baked bread that's burning the faithful,

I want to hear your lion roar,
You're so mundane always a bore,

Your mind is scarily sublime,
But Coraline, the time is mine,

This is the test, the pitfall of the faithless,
You may be a mess, but show them why you get no rest.
Motivational; there's a second part coming (eventually)

Is Always on My Mind
Shawn Nov 2016
A penny for your thoughts,
A nickel if you're fickle,
A dime and you're mine,

A quarter for the century,
A dollar makes you holler,
Five to keep it alive,

Mr. Hamilton wants attention,
Mr. Jackson is very sore,
Mr. Benjamin will ease the tension,
... and maybe some more

A Mr. McKinley to keep it clean,
Grover Cleveland may make it messy,
But President Madison has arrived,

I don't mean to Chase you away,
but Woodrow Wilson will do just fine.

Christian pt1
Shawn Nov 2016
I need more eggs to feed the chickens, the big bad wolf to the little red hen,
The pigs are up in the family's den, and the shepherd can't herd them,

Well, I have two pieces of fence to hold the sheep in, find some mud to get the pigs sleeping,
Not a snowball's chance in hell we are leaving, now get back to your cage and start cleaning.

But the animals are asking for Napoleon ice cream, I'd scream but you know that doesn't make for nice dreams,
Well, feed the sheep a fresh hot plate of steam, make sure to gather the animals should all be as it seems.
Don't you know good Christians eat more chicken? I do a lot of food on my poems.

Hunger
Shawn Nov 2016
I eat, at the altar, with a hunger stronger than I remember,
I eat, from soup to nuts, pig bones and guts are grinded to dust,
I eat, a pound of flesh, char up my lungs to catch my breath,
I eat, lamb and wolf, sheer them up I'll wear them both,
I eat, golden eggs and apples, the first fool to fry the samples,
I eat, hot tomales like bread and butter, the spiciness should make me better,
I eat, the blacker berries, the blue berries and dark ripe wild cherries,
I eat, the crackers and wine, out of the palms of your hands,
I eat, with my family and friends, and I hope to eat with you again,
Way too many metaphors, feed me, I'm hungry

Sacred
Shawn Oct 2016
Gods and Kings share TV slots with Lord of rings,
My house of cards addiction is nothing compared to presidential affliction,
Sunday night service at the alert of the nearest screen, God hurry up the game is going to be on soon,
Talking selfies in the funeral home, it's okay I'm dead on the inside and the lighting is great in here,

Sometimes I wonder, did Jesus need Adidas to walk, or was that all just yeezus talk,
Sometimes I wonder, are the holy holidays still holy if you pray instead of pay, if your credit card is worth more soul, will you sell it,
I've never met a girl not try to be celibate, but we all know of the eighth wonder, and curiosity slays the *****,
Sometimes I wonder, is anything even sacred, if I can where Jesus like a piece, am I at peace,
If ***** is power, can I be God for a second, or is that just a feeling,
Sometimes I wonder, is anything even sacred anymore,

When the Obama's leave
Shawn Oct 2016
When the Obama's leave the black house,
The Senate will be white,
The Congress, white,
The Supreme Court, white,
But he will still be black again

When the Obama's leave the black house,
The walls drained of soul, will be white,
The flowers frozen to stone, will be white,
The new laughter filling the home, will be white,
But he will still be black again

When the Obama's leave the black house,
The streets will be blue and red,
The states divided, blue and red,
The country untied, blue and red,
But America will be blue, red, and white again
This is actually an answer to a guy who made a similar poem in 2008 when Obama took office. There's supposed to be another more positive part, but I'm not good at being positive, help would be nice.

Purgatory
Shawn Oct 2016
When I open my eyes,
I'm here again,
Blue skies, incoming dark clouds, Blink,
I'm here again,
Climbed a mountain, thought it was a mole hill, long trip through the fall,
Breathe,
I'm here again,
In an Audi going 140 on i80, the blur of signs blind me,
Beep beep,
Crash,
I'm here again,
Made it to cirque du soleil, the universal smiles make me frown,
Laugh laugh,
Cry,
I'm here again,
In my dorm, start studying, you know ***** can't crack calculus,
Puff puff,
Pass,
I'm here again,
Satin sheets, brown stains, when I sleep I fear I'll dream,
I'm here again,

My Friend

My friend sings to me,
Dancing in the dark,
She chants hymns to me,

My friend calls to me,
Standing at 5 foot 20,
He soars over me,

My friend speaks to me,
Loud and bellowing,
His voice echoes in me,

My friend reads to me,
Assured and supportive,
She believes in me,

My friends walk with me,
Laughing and smiling,
Their love reaches me,

Tongue and cheek violence
Shawn Oct 2016
I cracked her like an egg,
Unable to be put back together she would beg,
But together we were worse,
Her tongue a fiery tyrant,
On my back she made me move mountains,
With a disdain for her fiery taint I climb away from her,
But the top of the mountain frost bitten I long for the warmth,
Not of her body but the warm sting on my cheek,
When the violent nomenclature hits my lips,
This is for everyone who knows someone in an abusive relationship, and doesn't understand why they don't leave.

Grimnerfication

Grow,
Good morning, get up, get going, get out, get it?
Get giggity, giggly,
Great, get in, get quite, real g's move in silence, and gesticulations get goons gone,
Go ahead, go forth with great care, go far, go out, get lost, go back,
Grasp green garments,
Go on,

Respire,
Read rhetoric, read rhythm, read rhymes,
Read people,
Respond resplendently, require resolution,
Realize, rain rains, read rain rain gauge,
Risk rewards, run rapidly,  run rampantly, run triumphantly,
Rise up, rise on, ride horses, ride waves, ride on,
Red letter days,

Irked?
Inhale, intake, insure, inhibit,
Intuition informs insides,
Imitators idolize, I irk, irritate, insist Immaculate
Inspire innovation, incite celebration,
Inner id ingests infestations,
Ideal installed,

Move,
Make much of it, make mistakes, make mends, make merry, make cheer, make love, make peace,
Mind, mind manners, mind time, mind love, mind peace,
Move, move over, move up, move in, move out, move on,
More so, more smiles, more laughs, more life, more understanding, more peace, more love,
Marvelous magenta muse moves me,

Exhale,
Exhibit excellence, energize everyone,
Eat east, eat in, eat out, eat everywhere, with everyone,
Exhale, exit anger, exit stress, exit breath,
Enters euphoria, enters energy, with ease

Need,
Need no one, need nothing, only neo Nazis,
No, need necessities, need neurons, need Nutella, nourishment,
Now know knowledge, know profound power found in numbers, now know nothing

Restart
Reduce, reuse, recycle,
Reproduce,
Re-energize, refuel, revamp, repeat,
The life cycle

a Drink
Shawn Jul 2015
Take up that man's chalice,
Take heed, your heart must have known malice,
Take heed, your now in that man's palace,
Take heed, your pride cannot be *******,

Eat of that man's berries,
His children laugh and play,
As you eat his blue berries,
His children are far away,
As you eat his wild cherries,
Eat of the strange fruit swaying from the trees,

Walk in that man's hand,
Feel his moccasins get filled with hourglass sand,
Listen to the locals cry out in a language you will never understand,
Now know what it is to be that man,

— The End —
