"Hallelujah."
Q Mar 2015
Oh, love, you are missing today
And, suddenly, everyone knows your name.
Oh, love, do you remember the way
You watched the seasons shift and change?

You're not here today, love
You'll visit and revisit
Yet you refuse to stay
And that's not enough, is it?

"Sweetheart, what have you done to us?"
We sang those words until we couldn't breathe
"Don't lie, I know we're fixing to die,"
And you were first to leave.

Beauty is subjective, but you were universal
Time is unreliable and age is routine
Life is objective and you were unimpressed
So what did you find so unsatisfactory?

"Hallelujah," you sang as you left
Hallelujah, hallelujah, rejoice for death
"Hallelujah," you said no "goodbye"'s
Just, "Hallelujah, hallelujah," until you died.

.

I heard there was a secret chord
And no one on Earth has heard it but you
We listen, watch, and wait for the answer
With our fingers crossed that it's the truth.

That David played to please the Lord
Though you never believed in him at all.
We are the David's playing until we can't
Then resuming at your call.

But you don't really care for music, do you?
In futile, in vain, our stupid efforts.
What song would you like to hear, dear king?
What will make you stay with us?

It goes like this: the minor fall, the major lift
It was set in stone from day one
We should have seen, should have known
That you would, so soon, be gone.

And the baffled King composing Hallelujah
Did you understand our words, our pleas?
Did you think of our cries before you left?
Oh my dearest, bemused, lost, little king.

Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...

The days passed by and you grew weary;
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
So you searched the world helplessly in vain
That life would mean something, anything, for you.

And then came Her, a breath of hope
You saw Her bathing on the roof
You crossed your fingers and prayed to the air
That She was the concrete, unfailing truth.

You followed her with your heart in hand;
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you.
You knelt by her feet and raised her up
The whole while singing, "Hallelujah."

She held you closer than you'd ever been then
She tied you to the kitchen chair.
And you were content, you were secure
You were so happy to be there.

She stripped you of titles and material things
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
She skinned you completely, down to your soul
And left you liberatingly bare.

She reached inside and wrenched the pain from you
And from your lips, she drew the, "Hallelujah."
You were so completely healed at that moment
How you relapsed, how you slipped away eludes her.

Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...

.

Oh, had I seen you slipping
I would've let you know that
Baby, I've been here before;
It's not the place for you to end at.

I would have stressed that you're better
Than this room soaked in the blood of thousands.
I've seen this room, I've walked this floor, you know
You'd be better off far away from it.

I would have explained that you were it.
I'd yet to see color, to live, to trust;
I used to live alone before I knew you-
Then you appeared and left me starstruck.

You were a light, you were a star
You were what I thought didn't exist before
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
So I'll raise it in your absence; let it soar.

You were hope, dearest wayfarer
Though I know hope never lasts
And love is not a victory march
But I never thought it'd end so fast.

The message isn't an apology
It's not guilt or regret
It's a cold and it's a broken, "Hallelujah,"
That I've not managed to accept yet.

Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...

.

You said it once and I heard you clear
"I'm so tired," your eyes were closed
You didn't confide again, but oh,
There was a time when you let me know.

What's behind that small, secretive smile?
What is it you won't let show?
What are you feeling; are you okay?
What's really going on below?

All the things I never asked
For fear that questions would stab you through
I would've been a hiding place for your sorrow
But you never show that to me, do you?

I never knew what was on your mind
You never gave the slightest of clues.
I was more than prepared to give up
But remember when I moved in you?

I saw the pain, I saw the age
I finally felt as though I knew
We flew, I believe, we soared and flew
And the holy dove was moving too.

You were more than a light then
You were the cosmos, you were Earth's deus ex machina
We flew through time faster than we should have
And every breath we drew was, "Hallelujah."

Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...

.

Maybe there's a god above
Who was looking down to see you
But if he didn't stop the you from leaving
Then what good can he do?

But all I've ever learned from love
Is that it hurts too much to chase
All I've ever learned from love
Was how to hate; all I' learned

Was how to shoot someone who outdrew you.
I bit at their heels like a rabid dog,
They didn't see the impossible thing you were
Until we reached the epilogue.

And it's not a cry that you hear at night,
That'll convince you to go.
It's not the passing of days and months
That snatched you from home.

It's not somebody who's seen the light
That coerced you away.
It's not the worst of your times
That convinced you not to stay.

It's a cold and it's a broken, "Hallelujah,"
That froze you to your bones.
And by the time heat had come
You were already gone.

Hallelujah...
Hallelujah...

I'm trying to move on.
I've been writing this since October, I think this is the best version.

Now, I've heard there was a secret chord

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken hallelujah
Hallelujah

Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah

A very soothing and beautiful work of art by Leonard cohen

I'm told a man from Nazareth
a carpenter, had planned His death
from somewhere way before the birth of time
would be a thing worth finishing
for none could wear His wedding ring
until the final pardon for their crime.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

And taken from the midst of sin
an undeserving place I'm in
beneath the cross, I stare up at The One
whose blood poured down that gruesome day
in pain the man was heard to say
with his last breath, "That's it, My Work is Done." *

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

They took his body torn and dead
removed the thorns which pierced his head
and crying for this Man they'd come to love
wrapped him gently in the way
as was the custom of the day
without a doubt, they questioned God above.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Now placed inside a darkened tomb
and sealed in stone by soldiers whom
could not be caught asleep lest they would pay
but something happened as He planned
His tomb was somehow left unmanned
as angels rolled the stone aside that day.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

So WHO IS THIS who claims to save
in three days risen from the grave
who paid a debt which we could n'er afford~
now written into history
He wrote the world a mystery
and solved it one day, cause that's my Lord.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Fulfilling every prophecy
the Only One my heart can see
is Jesus Christ, be sure you cannot hide
you'll face Him on your dying day
my One True Love who's made a way
to cover and protect his precious bride!

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
* More precisely " It is finished" . " Later, knowing that all was now completed (teleō), and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled (teleioō), Jesus said, "I am thirsty" ... When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished (teleō)." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." (John 19:28, 30)

These three words derive from the same Greek root, telos, which means "end" --  primarily a termination point, then by extension, the end to which all things relate, the aim, the purpose.53

"Completed / finished / accomplished" in verses 28 and 30 is the related verb teleō, "to complete an activity or process, bring to an end, finish, complete something." With regard to time, it means, "come to an end, be over."54 Moreover the tense of this verb is important to us --  perfect tense (tetelestai). In Greek the perfect tense signifies a past action, the effect of which continues into the present. It has been completed and is still complete. The effect of the tense in this verb is a sense of finality.

In the last couple of centuries scholars have found thousands of papyrus scraps with Greek writing on them. Many of these are mundane commercial documents in which we find this word. Moulton and Milligan pored over many of these receipts and contracts to better understand New Testament Greek. They observed that receipts are often introduced by the phrase tetelestai, usually written in an abbreviated manner indicating that the bill had been paid in full.55 The obligation has been completed. The debt has been paid off. Tetelestai --  it is finished.  Read more:

I heard there was a secret orb
it's ovoid laid and it’s for the horde
but they don’t really care for vaccines voodoo.

Well it goes like this just close your fist
a minor thrall of the aged list
the muzzled crowd reposing hallelujah

hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

Your mate was wrong so you were aloof
you know she’s scathing about your proof
her baulking of your insight over threw you.

She lied to you which wasn’t fair
she spoke alone and she didn’t care
and sipped more ale her hebrewed hallelujah

hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

You say I look as if in pain
I'm pinched as salt not in a grain
But if I am then silly, what’s it to you.

There’s a craze at night all round the world
to some it matters we’re not a herd
the whole of thee a token hallelujah.

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

I beat my breast your out of touch
I will not kneel I will not slouch
I am a sleuth so I cannot let them fool you.

And even if it all goes wrong
I’ll stand before the mighty throng
with nothing in my veins nor hallelujah

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah.

We are a broken
Hallelujah
We sleep uneasy we dream of running as far as hell will take us towards
Hallelujah
We forget to call we forget to write we forget to medicate we forget the name that we once called
Hallelujah
We dig in we arm ourselves to the teeth we can't trust we can't remember
Hallelujah
It is not safe here, we are drawing battle lines across the block we are marching the neighborhood we are holding hands to stop the shaking
Hallelujah
We know that alone we can be killed but together we are immortal
Hallelujah
All we have is each other and a clear picture of who our enemies are
Hallelujah
Our enemy is death and he is fear and he is afraid of the strength of our
Hallelujah
We'll take the streets and hold on
Hallelujah
We'll take the power and hold on
Hallelujah
We will endure and we will overcome
Hallelujah
And we will all sing
Hallelujah
And we will all sing
Hallelujah

Hallelujah
This isn't much but always remember that solidarity is all we've got in trying times like this so take care of each other and stay strong
Transcending the barriers of language,
is a powerful word of… utmost praise;
it’s a personal shout of recognition,
that Jehovah most be honored this day!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Now hear the World, exclaim in unison.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
His majesty is the final conclusion,

that we’ll all reach at the Bema Seat.
Knees will bow and tongues will confess,
that Christ is the Lamb and our Lord;
under His reign and rule, all acquiesce

and attest with more shouts of praise.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
By the grace of His Spirit, we cry out:
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

"The one word of praise that goes beyond all language barriers to make the whole world praise God with one voice in unison is 'Hallelujah!,' may we train our soul and command it to praise the Lord often in this universal earthly language that transcends time and space to reach heaven and reverberate in heaven to bring glory, honor and praise to our God and joy towards us from Him in response." —Abraham Israel

Hallelujah, the Lord is Good, and Perfect too.
Hallelujah, there is none like him , no not one.
Hallelujah, for only he could save us from sin.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, for our sins has been washed.
Hallelujah, our Lives has been transform by him.
Hallelujah, Life is now  a Blessed on for each of us.
Hallelujah, now we can communicated with Christ.
Hallelujah, for we once were meant to die a sinful death.
Hallelujah, but you change the destination we were meant to go.
Hallelujah, now we have a second chance to be with you Lord.

Hallelujah Simpkins, Syllogism Brown,
Wandered up to Barkingside to walk around the town.
Does it make you wonder, when they ring the bell,
How they press the ***** keys and sing along as well?
Syllogism wondered so he climbed the tower to see;
Hallelujah, Simpkins said, I know that I am free.

Hallelujah Simpkins, Pendlebury Jane,
Hurried to the hospital and hurried home again.
Does it make you wonder, when they run so fast,
How they know they'll ever reach the hospital at last?
Pendlebury wondered even though she couldn't run,
Hallelujah, Simpkins said, today I have a son.

Hallelujah Simpkins, Academic Smith,
Never et an orange if they couldn't eat the pith.
Does it make you wonder, if oranges can float,
Why they catch the Underground and never catch a boat?
Academic wondered so he went and caught the train;
Hallelujah, Simpkins said, and said it once again.

Hallelujah Simpkins, Concertina Flight,
Hear the song the angels sing in Dagenham tonight!
Does it make you wonder, climbing Heaven's stair,
How you'd speak to Hallelujah Simpkins, if he's there?
Simpkins only wondered whom he followed as he soared;
Hallelujah, Simpkins said, and glory to the Lord!

Mine eyes have seen the statues being torn down from their plinths
erasing our shared history at the Citizens expense
those who rewrite the past commit a grave offense

when Truth is trampled on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
The Truth is trampled on.

Soon they’ll revise the history books and omit the civil war.
Our Youth won’t have to learn about the “lost cause” anymore
To tell the truth about the past will be against the law

then  truth is trampled on.

There was once a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel,
"Six hundred thousand had to die before our land could heal;"
When a Hero, born of woman, crushed Rebellion with his heel
When God was marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
The Truth is trampled on.

I have heard the trumpets echo die; its absence makes me weep
I see Marse Robert join the rest upon the ******* heap
He who was skilled in victory and gracious in defeat-

This history must live on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

This history must live on.
t is a a sad state of affairs when Lenin is honored  with a statue and Robert E. Lee is dragged down like he was Saddam Hussein. Lee was our countries hero during the Mexican war, he led the Americans who recaptured Harper's ferry from John Brown, a domestic terrorist. He was a worthy adversary in the War between the States and his gracious surrender did much to heal the wounds of war.
These cultural Fascists of the Left do no one any favors. Remember that those who start by burning books end up burning Human beings

hallelujah
Riot Dec 2014
left out in the world everyone fears
darkness creeping over the years
but breaking through her lips
a hallelujah
for no one can take away from her
the praise she fought her whole life for
she screams
and cries
for nothing but hallelujah

hell bound baby
far from loved
family chains
family blood
silent prayers
she seeks a star
atop her lungs she says "no more
hallelujah isn't what i'm looking for"
she stopped for a moment
and stopped looking for stars
for she thought they were to far
but her hallelujah lies in the moon
she never thought would be covered by clouds
but it's not gone now
for there's an ounce of light
for her to seek
til the end of the night
and to this girl i say
hallelujah

broken
hallelujah
stolen
hallelujah
hopeless
hallelujah
breathless
he still hears you
hallelujah
