Hold me closer to you,
     Until this throe is over,
          Wipe away this despairing tears,
              And build smile into my face,
          Take away all of this weights I'm lifting,
       And let me rest in your embrace,
   Whisper comfort into my ears,
With the warmth of your breath I feel.


                                You're all that I needed.


                                                    But­­ oh well, I won't expect too much,
                                          I know for a fact that it won't happen,

'Cause I'm just a NOBODY.

Supine
On the floor
Of an unfinished treehouse

I stare into
The glow
Of a Wednesday
Morning.

My sketch pad
And a few
Unfinished books
Scattered around me
Some are fiction
Others not.

I stare into the
The ever lightening
Sky, searching
For inspiration.

She took that with
Her.

I lost a sense of
What beauty is
When I no
Longer woke to
Her eyes.

Poems and sketches sit
half finished
And I lie half
-- of what I was.

In a world that
Has such a complete
Understanding
Of every
Morning
Breath.

To you, my one and only unknown love, I bestow unto you my heart and burning desires.
I've dreamed of our wedding day, and much more to come.
But still with a blank slate, for you, my one and only unknown love.

The paths that lay ahead call
Singing harmoniously to the soul
A chorus of whispers like flitting wings
Opinions, unsolicited and unwelcome
The future is seen in logical deduction
Two steps down this road
Five steps down that
Some are well lit
While others sit in the darkness of the unknown
Eenie, meenie, miney, and moe
Life is ruled by a despot
Every choice, each minute decision
Made by one
There is no team in, I
Take a deep breath
One foot in front of the other
The options are limitless
Final say and fate accepted
There is no one to blame
When responsibility lies within
Change direction at will
Enjoy the unexpected
Each life a maze
Each with its own tyrant

'Why is the raven
Like a writing desk?'

I asked winter--
Crying icicles
Into palpitations.

Of wings croaking
Words and phrases
That evolve us,

Enigmatically
--Sometimes
As we sleep
With seizures

And lifeless seeds.

i look for you
     always

     i’ll catch a flash of you
in the dark shadows
of a smokey bar
     or hear the scuff of your boot
on the beer soaked floor
     or the glimpse of black leather
as a door slowly closes

     i smell the aroma of you
while entering a book store
following it towards
the mysteries and horror
only to have the scent fade
somewhere between self help
and biographies

     i feel you
next to me in bed at night
spellbound by the very thought of you
aching to hold you
then saddened by the fact
that your side of the bed is empty

you've left me, i know
   and foolish, i may be
but it gives me comfort
   knowing you can arouse my senses
just by imagining you're still around.

I am worried that one day
I will fade from your memory
for it is you who gave me hope
when I thought all was lost

Waiting
Always waiting and I'm not sure why. Times would be better if I would just try.
I keep to myself waiting on you,
Waiting to see if you make the first move.
Waiting to see if things will change
Waiting to see if I can break from this pain.
Spend all day waiting and what did I do. Nothing at all except wait on you.
It's time to stop waiting and make the first move.  It's time to find my own personal grove.
Time to get going, time to be brave.
Time to show you all I am not afraid.
My time is now, I hope you all see it's time to stop waiting and be brave
