The concrete walls
Stifle the longing gaze
Of connection, of love

Heavy eyes
Tender heart

Where the rhythm of the world
No longer fills the air
But reduced to binary
Time and need

Heavy eyes
Tender heart

But a breath of fresh air
Is all that you need
To start wishing, wondering
And imagining again.

**** two birds with one stone
Or so we've been told
To stay grounded, to stay level
To clip the wings of others
So we won't be alone

Imagine though
If all birds were allowed to fly
How beautiful the sky would be.

The waves hit the shore, in constant chorus
Where the salt and water swirl in concert

Sleep, provides a temporary solace
When life leaves no place to hide
