A poem a day
Keeps the demons away.
Sleep took its flight
I embraced the light
Memories of the day
Sway gently in the moonlight
Ghosts of the past
Waltz into the present
And together
They mock the future
Who lies patiently
In a mist of uncertainty
On my rumpled pillow
My eyelids pinch mercilessly
As the long night
Fades into daylight

We are all lying in the gutter
But some of us are looking at the stars
And wait patiently
Getting rid of the fear
Until clouds disappear
Because we know
That once more
The stars will glow
For the victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels

Violet
Maybe the next time I see you
I will put some lipstick on
And your fingers will find me
The way nobody ever will

Maybe the next time I see you
We can sit next to each other
And your hand could rest
Somewhere no one should know

Maybe the next time I see you
I can rest my head on your chest
As you rest your heart into me
With the world fading into oblivion
