Wind blows...trees quiver
Dry leaves disconnect...fall, and
Fly by the window

Some cling to the glass
Some get blown farther away
Ground is wet, but brown

Fine shower falls on
Coffee with RumChata waits
It's cold at the porch...

Have you ever been madly in love?

The old man broke my reverie.

On the long faded green bench white with bird droppings
he was peering at me through his silver grey beard
looking oddly out of place in that college squire park
where only the dreamers at the prime of youth
would sit between classes to exchange love notes
and steal a kiss when the passion couldn't be reined in.

Have you ever been madly in love? he repeated,
and then as if growing impatient by my silence
mumbled, pausing between words,
like they stung him like thorns
it extracts a price been paying all my life
living with a void no other woman could fill
a commitment that breeds only pain
yet makes me insanely boastful
of being madly in love.

It was recess hour and the benches were being filled up.

How many, I wondered, would still hold hands
when the classes are over.
God they'll mock me and doubt me... Trust Me
God they'll say  I would be a fool not to stay where I am... Trust me
God they think I'm only good for certain types of jobs as if that's all there is to me like I have no other gifts... Trust me
God they are for sure gonna laugh and talk about me... Trust me
God what if I fail?... Trust me
God what if I lose it all?... Trust me
God what if I'm not thinking clearly and they're all right?... Trust me
God but what if... Trust me
I am Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will always make a way where there seems to be no way. Have I ever giving you a reason to doubt that I will not be there and provide for you? Your gift will make room for you. TRUST ME!

Polar
Like a dandelion seed

you have flown from my reach

When you used to be so near.

The night calls out to you

With siren delights

Guiding you

with illusions of bright shining lights.

Like Michaelangelo's barefooted baby Jesus

I see you run toward a future

Headed for potential disaster

And like the angels

I want to shadow you

To steer you away.

Yesterday seems far away

With sadness I see

Time

Has made you step away

From me.
A frailty of quick sand
a deep gap in the immense land

away from clover green
secluded nature's earth
daily seen this dry dusty scene

we have been listening to most touching songs,
psalms, hymns and of magical singing

great person of simplicity
mind match of a genius
man from Mars not from Venus

from dust you are to dust you go
to the Lord's scenic spot
eternal life you will have, it had been said
you are still living amongst the dead.

Worthiest prayer ever heard
loftiest words oftentimes birthed
saddest meanings in every word.

One thing we may rejoice
like Abraham in the Holy Scripture
you left myriads of your own,
from your humble creature.

High Almighty God, most grateful to You,
that You cared for Pieter and led him all time through,
he died once, was resurrected again and now with You

he chooses to go to his beloved époussée
and asked for your permission
while waiting this transition,
all of a sudden he was knocking at your Door,
You received Him at once with greatest love and more....

May he rest in peace, husband, father and engineer,
Pieter van der Werff, the Dutch buccaneer !!

NOTE: Ir. P.v.der Werff is a good acquaintance, died few days ago all of a sudden, but still very healthy, sane and enjoying life at the fullest,
but he oft missed his late wife....
A dark shadow
has been cast upon your heart,
a friendship has come apart.

Memories now destroyed,
lost are the amable words
once spoken,
all in vain,
your heart is broken.

Lies replace the truths you held onto,
precious time you invested has been embezzled - ripped off you.

Trust was swirled up,
it was carried away
with the wind on a cold, cold night,
your crying eyes were forced
to see reality in a bright
new blinding light.

A new lesson
has been painfully learned,
the silver-lining is a new beginning...
You are free of a false friendship -
you do all of the agonising,
and the winning.

You hit rock-bottom
when you got off on top.
Yes! It's their loss!
But it's you that tumbled and fell
from a very steep drop.

~Loss and gain,
love and loyalty
in vain.
