Blossoms of sweet cherry hue
I picked them all for you
My heart of love is beating still
All for you it ever will

Why do we burden our hearts
With all those weights of guilt
Of regrets etched so deeply in our souls
Rushing towards the darkness we ourselves built

Why do we regret
Those shattered dreams
When new ones can be sought
Endlessly in our mind's realms

Why do we regret the loss
Of friendships fading away in the chaos
They were chapters of life's book
Ending with every milestone we cross

Why do we regret the decisions
Made on an impulse, without a care
On the train to our destinies
A few unplanned detours we are bound to fare

Why regret the life we lived
Upon reaching the end
Mayhap we'll live it differently, given a second chance
But the Maker's laws for us will never bend
You are
the ink,
the page,
the poem.
"Surely you must've known, it was all for you." -Pride and Prejudice
Dear darling dare I love you so?
Most rethorically
Shall I keep you near
To me
You are my favorite place
To be
How lovely the stars become in your company
Writers note: A quickie I wrote for a near and dear old friend.
-smiles-

Do hope you find a little something in it.

~

Drifting on a meandering stream
where clover dance and ripples direct my thoughts
to the promises of a new day

I dream I am floating in your arms

as currents gently tug
playing solitaire in wishing hands
among glistening diamonds on the surface

I search for each desire’s realm

while my eyes wander to a place
long of sunrise sparklings
on soft apricot murmurs

Finding your fragrance on a cool wind’s whisper

my heart is drenched,
cleansed in an endless channel
of what your beauty brings to me

I rest in a shady spot among watercolor shadows

writing poetry,
penning my affections in ink traced lines,
renderings of how wonderful my life is

Since you have washed over me

leaving me breathless,
submerged far beneath dew drop shimmers,
saturated by your love
The veracity of truth is proved by the powerful blow it inflicts
How nice would it be
If we were always prepared
For all situations
And from surprises, were spared?

But rain doesn't wait
Till the shelter is raised,
And sun doesn't wait
Till you're wearing your shades.

Mud doesn't wait
Till you're wearing old shoes,
We can't always be ready,
And I'm not ready for you.

No shelter, no shades,
No shoes and no time;
Here you come, taking over
My unprepared mind.
