Her Fire Burns How Quick

by NotBrokeJustBent

She has fire running through her veins Which you could see inside her eyes And into her soul. Oh beautiful maiden, what makes your fire burn so bright? Was it he who left you Lighting the flame but never extinguishing it? Or was it she who cheated you Igniting the anger and distrust You'd never be able to get rid of? Or were you simply destined for greatness? Passion burning through your skin That simply manifests itself To allow you to feel everything so deeply Yet feel nothingness all at once? Oh beautiful maiden, Will you shine once more A flying phoenix in the sky? Or were you born to simply burn once And only live to die?

I still dream of that lost fire in your eyes and wonder what it would take to bring the dead embers of your past self to life again... (Co-written excerpt)
